New Customer, Failed Installation

I am a new Verizon Fios customer, I got my service less than 48 hours ago on Saturday. I paid $99 for an installation fee. But now my internet has stopped working already. They said they need to send a technician over because they can't do anything about ONT remotely. I need my internet because I work from home, also study from home, and need access to various applications necessary for work and school. Not to mention, I now have to take the day off on Wednesday the 22nd to be home for the technician. My ring doorbells and spotlight don't work so now if anything happens or someone is at the door I'm out of luck for the next 48 hours! How is that fair? And why is it so hard to speak to a representative for any issue? If I go to optimum I can speak to a rep much more easily. This entire experience is frustrating and I'm already on the brink of switching back to optimum.
