I just upgraded to Fios 1gig plan and received a complimentary Verizon CR1000A which retails for $399, what???
Anyway, I have a simple one-bedroom with many devices and used a mesh router with 2 extenders (access points). This IMO is THE best router ever, Ubiquiti Amplifi-HD. Their tech support is unparalleled and worth every penny. Fast forward to the last few days. Every few minutes I see the router disconnecting, a device is disconnected. From 20 devices connected to the router, I see 8, then 10, then 20 then back to 5. Really, what the heck is this garbage?
I contacted Verizon Fios support and he ran some steps and *allegedly* fixed the issue or so I thought. Just a few moments ago was the final straw, AGAIN the friggin router goes offline, 20 devices are now 8 and I blew my top. I rip the thing outta the wall and replace my old router. Granted it can only handle 500mbps but it never, EVER disconnects me or my devices. Verizon can take a hike with their router, I am going back to my old Fios plan.

If you don't have Verizon TV with their set-top-boxes, you can use your Ubiquiti router. Just put store the Verizon router in case you need it later, or if you change service/plans and Verizon wants it back. No need to change plans if you want to keep gigabit speed.

I only have FIOS with Verizon. My router is only capable of 500mbps and I am paying for 1gig, it's not worth it. I am considering upgrading to their Alien router which is capable of 1gig speed but I will never use a Verizon-branded router again.

Where are you seeing devices are disconnected? It can only handle 500 Mbps? What can only handle 500 Mbps?

Which part(s) were confusing?
> Where are you seeing devices are disconnected? In the admin console of the router.
> It can only handle 500 Mbps? What can only handle 500 Mbps? My previous router, which is hooked up now, Ubiquiti Amplifi HD.

Nothing in the router User Manual suggests a "disconnected" label in the web GUI means the device is dissociated from the wireless radios.
Your allegation that the devices are prone to disconnection from the router is, so far, unsubstantiated.

I've been a tech for over 30 years and I am telling you that my devices were DISCONNECTING from your garbage router left and right. Now, thanks to Verizon I have to buy another router capable of 1GIG speeds or downgrade to my previous plan of 500mbps.

Minutes ago you said this: you are seeing devices are disconnected based on the Web GUI of the router.
If you are alleging that the devices are disconnecting in any other ways, you still need to prove with a preponderance of the evidence, such as by showing a continuous ping probe, or wireless client dissociation messages from the router.

Age, wealth, or title does NOT define the strength of the argument. Anything you say would still be mere allegations until supported with a preponderance of the evidence.

Since no one knows or can present a resolution without turning into a know it all. I will go elsewhere to find the answer.

I only have about 7 things connected, a 3 bdrm, but bought way more service than I needed, since COX was off so frequently. With them, I felt the frustration you’re feeling now. Got Verizon WiFi about 2-21/2 yrs ago—changed my “connection “ life! The router arrived rapidly, within 2 days. Excellent service, with a replugging about 5 times, in that period. It blew a week ago, last Monday. I’m still waiting. Supposed paperwork delay. Waiting can be tolerable, when all information is provided. And if there is awareness of a defected product, a system for rapid replacement should be established. What Verizon will eventually learn, is that all their WiFi customers LEFT another company.
