Old Verizon box in my unit. Do I contact Verizon to remove this?

No, you can't. Telecom equipment is part of the property. If you remove it or damage it, Verizon may bill you.

One may only remove at the direction of Verizon Legal,  or any pertinent and authorized representatives at the exigence, such as an installation technician.
