PORT FORWARDING UPDATE G3100

OK i have been looking for days and no one appears to be having this issue.

It is january 2024 and every single video or forum ive seen on verizon port forwarding is obsolete and outdated. The interface has been updated over and over and over to become exceptionally convoluted.

Ill make it quick, ADVANCED->Security and Firewall-> Port forwarding.

(Firewall is as open and low settings as i can make it)

I put in my computers IP from the drop list, the FWD to port is 25565 under TPC protocol, Scheduled always. WHAT am i supposed to put in the oringal port? NO one on youtube or google has had a picture of this interface as its been updated. I have tried every combination i can think of and it refuses to connect. I have port forwarded private servers multiple times before and somehow in 2024 its become even more aggrivating to try and set up a simple port forwarding. SOMEone has got to know what the deal is here.

Sorry, I want to point this out in your terminology, the transport protocol is called Transmission Control Protocol (TCP), not TPC. I only know one TPC and it is the Terrestrial Peaceable Consortium in Ultraman Tiga. I watched that show growing up.

Anyway, the rule looks good and accessing your public IP on 25565 should forward to 192.168.1.165:25565 without a problem. Unless, the server's IP is not 192.168.1.165?

Original port is viewing from the perspective of the router's WAN interface.

So, on which port should the router listen on its WAN interface for forwarding to the 25565 port of your server?

My understanding is that the Port Forwarding page is supposed to be more intuitive in the G3100 and CR1000A/B after the 3.1.0.12 update (? double check version), but an intuitive interface was at the cost of some functionalities as I view it. So right now the PF page is sort of reverting back to the same during the days of the G1100.

Should i just post a picture of the "Port forwarding" page with what i put in it? Its very incongruant with what over a DOZEN videos say i should be doing. THeres entire boxes that are unnessecary it seems. I need to Forward 25565, (THe tcp Minecraft port) to my PC's IP. Its very simple in theory and ive done it before but not on this router

You can post a screenshot of how you are doing it. Please only include the minimal information necessary, and do not screenshot any identifiable information.

Random ports are fine, and IP addresses like 192.168.1.x are fine. MAC addresses are NOT fine.

I would imagine SOME aspect of this is wrong or redundant then.Of all the videos ive found they tell you what the Port for the service is. i KNOW its TPC and 25565. And i know that my PC's IP address is correct its the only choice. FORWARDING HELP.png
