Hi All,
I just updated the firmware on my Asus router. After doing so I lost all the old settings on it. I know that in my state (VA) some regions use the PPPoE protocal and I am one of them as there is not modem/router from Verizon installed in my house. To set up my router again correctly I would need my PPPoE username and password. However, I forgot that information. Is there a way to reset the username and password or to retrieve it?
Thanks!

This is for FIOS Internet which doesn't use PPPoE.
Are you refering to DSL?

If you're on DSL, most PPPoE username/password combinations can be whatever you want to fill in. Verizon in my area hasn't enforced a strict user/pass for a long while now.
As for FiOS, set your ASUS router to use DHCP and see if it pulls an IP address. If you're still on PPPoE, the migration to DHCP should be coming very soon. All of the old ATM-PPPoE FiOS connections are far and few at this point.
Failing that, call Verizon and request help with your PPPoE login.
