Range Extender Compatible with CR1000A

Hi. Looking for recommendations for a non-Verizon WiFi range extender that is compatible with the CR1000A router. I have the older E3200 Extender but found out that it can’t wirelessly connect to the CR1000A (coax only). The CE1000A is $249 from Verizon. I’m sure there are cheaper solutions. Would prefer that it use the existing SSIDs and not generate a new one similar to the way the Verizon extenders use one SSID. Thanks in advance!

Wireless backhauling the extender to the CR1000A is not recommended as this introduces excessive latency and signal loss. For best results, a wired backhaul (whether Coax or Ethernet) is always recommended.

If you have to get a third-party Access Point, you can always set the Service Set Identifier to be the same, given the BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) are different.

Thanks. Understand that there may be lag/signal loss. Unfortunately where I want to locate the extender, I have no way of hardwiring it via Ethernet or coax. Just looking for a good 3rd party extender that is compatible.

what other folks are using as non-verizon wifi extenders ( that is not hardwired at backhaul ) to work with CR1000A router? what kind of performance, signal loss, latency are you seeing. The internet at the far end of the house farthest away from the router keeps dropping intermittently and randomly and not useable, especially when on zoom. your answer will be greatly appreciated!

I'm using an older Netgear Orbi RBR50 router and RBS50 satellite. The router is hardwired (Ethernet), but the satellite is a wireless backhaul. The router is in access point mode. Connecting to the satellite doesn't seem to slow down Internet browsing and mail. I haven't tried gaming or anything sensitive to latency. Those are end-of-life, and the new ones are outrageously expensive. If I were getting a mesh system right now, I think I would get the eero Pro 6E (two or three of them).
