I just replaced my gateway 1000 Verizon router with a newer T-Link router using the tether app The gateway 1000 was 12 years old and speed was getting spotty at best I didn't have much trouble setting up the T-Link router however I can't seem to do a speed check remotely with through my Verizon is there anyway I can rectify that thank you in advance

Third party routers will require using the router's built-in tools, rather than Verizon's, to measure your speed at a router level. As far as I am aware, not every TP-Link router has speed testing capabilities baked into the firmware. Tether will only show a speed test button if this feature exists. To rule out the app missing the button, you could log into the router's web interface and check to see if a speed test button exists within.

Verizon's speed test can still be used if you need to measure the connectivity speed between your device (Phone, PC, Tablet, etc) and the Verizon Speed Test Server. It just won't be able to complete a "Router" test anymore without the G1100 or another Verizon router in place.
