Help! I have the FIOS mobil App installed on my IPAD and Iphone; I stream amd then I airplay to my appleTV so I can watch on my big screen. It was working fine for a month until 2 day ago. NOW, I get the stream on my device, but when I send it to airplay, it gives me an error message and does not work.
I spent an hour with Verizon support who checked the internet, reset the router and says all is ok with verizon, to all APPLE.
I spent an hour with Apple, who had me checked the setting for the apple TV, reboot everything, have mirroring the device to the TV. It does sent the image to the TV but but when a channel is selected on Fios mobile, same error message. Apple says the airplay is working , so it must be the FIOS APP. I tried to delete and download a new APP, still does not work. Kind of lost now. It works perfectly before, has verizon changed something in the App?? I have apple TV 2nd generation. but as I said, t was working fine before. ANY one have an idea?
thanks

Rather than calling support, try using the in app feature to put in a trouble ticket.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution; rather I have the same problem. I'm a new FiOS customeand was happy to hear that the mobile app supported airplay however I receive a "There was an interruption to your Airplay session. Please try again" message when connected to a fourth generation AppleTV. Devices I'm using the app on are an iPhone 6s and and a fourth gen iPad mini.
Hopefully someone will be able to offer a solution.

We had been using the FIOS Mobile App and Apple TV with Airplay to stream content to our TV. As of the 3/8/17 update of the FIOS Mobile app, we started having a problem with AirPlay. I filed a ticket with Verizon, and after a couple of days, got the following response: Apple Airplay is no longer supported for use with the FiOS Mobile app.
No reason was given why functionality that previously existed had been taken away, but this was verified on a couple of different devices.

I have the same issue. They are probably losing money from not renting cable boxes. Time to cut the cord.

Agreed! This is a **bleep** money grab. They are slowly pushing me to cord cutting by removing the few reasons to keep paying for diminishing service.

So I can pay a premium to Fios on all the movies I buy for my family, along with the SEVEN boxes in my house, but these **bleep** won't let me stream to my Apple TV? At least with Apple I can download and burn my media. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

I have the same problem right now after upgrading this new fios mobile app. The same message I got when doing airplay to my Apple TV.
Do you have the fix now? Please let me know.
thank you.

Previous post says they were told Airplay support was removed.

Removing AirPlay support ruins the app for me, so I'm uninstalling it, but using an error message that says, "There was an interruption to your AirPlay session. Please try again" is unforgivable from a customer service standpoint... It encourages users to continue continue to bang their head against the wall. Is it some kind of inside-Verizon joke? Or does the "Please try it again." refer to customers shopping for more forward-thinking cable providers?
If this is an Apple licensing issue, will Verizon begin to support Chromecast?

I have a Samsung phone.
It allows me to mirror my screen otuside of the app.
So I can use that to mirror to my Roku or Samsung TV.
Not sure if Apple has that capabilty?
If not built in, is there an app that supports it.

Exactly. I've been banging my head till I realized it was just the Fios app that wouldn't stream. This is going to have the opposite of their desired effect on me. I certainly won't be asking for another box from them.

Same problem. Verizon confirmed the removal of the AirPlay connectivity from their updated app. That was a %ick move. I'm certainly looking at other options. Not interested in renting three additional Verizon set top boxes. Afteral, we are in the 21st century. Most annoying on the part of Verizon.

Can anyone at Verizon Support explain why there is still an AirPlay button in the current version of the app? If it is not supported, why even have the option to *attempt* to AirPlay it at all?

I have had the same exact problem. It started in February. Are you also located in New York? I have tried everything. Any other app will mirror fine. If I download the food network or abc app they live as normal. It's only with the Fios app that I can't mirror to the Apple TV. So far I haven't found any solution.

This is absolutely unbelievable. How stupid is Verizon to think that this will generate more revenue from box rental? All it's going to do is get people to simply cut the cord. PlayStation TV, Roku, Amazon, Apple TV, or even maybe Comcast is the way to go now.
Verizon is now actually worse than comcast I think.
What a scam to sign people up on contract touting this feature of streaming to Apple TV via the app, and then take it away.

I'm almost afraid to type this in case it's a mistake, but ours is working again, or it did tonight at least. I turned on the Fios app and had to "agree" with some document (which I suspected had to do with Apple TV) and poof, it is working again!

Ever since reading your post I went back and tried to airplay the app and it did work. First on my iPad but it cuts out on my phone I have no problem. Maybe with all of our complaints someone took notice?

Doesn't work for me. I just downloaded the Fios Mobile App yesterday and can't get AirPlay to work to view the content on my big screen. I'm trying to take advantage of the "free" movies until 4/30/17 and there aren't any! Not sure what their promotion for this is attempting to accomplish. Not happy!

Indeed, it works, but very unstable: stops every few minutes. Longest was 20 min and then its stopped. (On my i phone). Same on the Ipad: works 10 mins and stopped. Not really solved

I've been experiencing the same issues. It will not airplay at all on my iPad but the app works fine if viewing directly. As for the phone same, 20 minute spurts and then it stops and you have to completely close out and reopen. I know it's not my wifi because I can stream other things no problem. It really is disappointing.
