Beginning in August 2013, NBC Sports will have exclusive rights to English (Barclay's) Premier League soccer. All games not aired on a designated NBCUniversal channel will be made available to distributors on Premier League Extra Time, a package of overflow television channels available at no extra cost for each of their customers who receives NBC Sports Network. (see: http://epltalk.com/2013/04/23/everything-you-need-to-know-about-nbcs-coverage-of-the-premier-league-2013-16/).
Will Verizon/FiOS be making that service available to subscribers?
Hi
Thanks for raising this issue, we need to make Verizon agree to get this Premier League Extra Time for customers. Lets keep on making request via all social media.
Thanks
Glad to see this has been brought up. We are less than a month away form the start of the season. Hopefully we get the overflow games/channels. Anyone home, Verizon?
NBC just released this (http://nbcsportsgrouppressbox.com/2013/07/29/nbc-sports-group-announces-u-s-tv-schedule-for-first-three-months-of-premier-league-season/), which excludes FiOS as a provider for Premier League Extra Time. FiOS, first it was FSCHD, then it was BeIN, if you drag your feet on this one like you have in the past, i may finally have to pull the plug! Get your act together and provide the content your subscribers want!
Fios - please don't disappoint us again! pls provide the Premier League Extra time as offered to you by NBC
My 4 years with Fios will end in a few weeks. It will be Bye Bye Verizon, welcome back Comcast.
I heard they were dumping GolTV as well or at least the English speaking channel (313). It may be time to revisit Comcast Xfinity. It would be a shame as I have been with FIOS for 8 years but they are consistently behind the other major providers with respect to the sports programming. Not really sure what they are thinking.
If FiOS don't host these channels then it's goodbye from me too, and hello DirecTV.
I just spoke with Verizon. Shockingly, they have no comment at this time and don't have the package in their system. Please make your voice heard if you want this.
Need to sort this or I'll be jumping ship too, speaking to others they will lose plenty of customers should they not add Premier League Extra TIme.
I have created the idea here: http://forums.verizon.com/t5/Share-Your-Ideas-with-Verizon/Adding-Premier-League-Extra-Time-as-a-channel/idi-p/608190Has there been any news or updates on if fios will get this before the season begins?
Time Warner Cable has signed up for PLET. Every season I add a TWC TV sub to fill in the holes (FS+ HD, GolTV HD, ESPN and Fox Deportes HD, and at first beIN Sports). Maybe it's time I sacrifice the upload speeds of FiOS and kick Verizon to the curb altogether and go with TWC for TV and internet. PQ wont be as good and upload speeds wont be as fast but I think I'll be happy and may even save money.
Incredible that they seem to be the one major provider not adding this feature. I already know of five friends who, in addition to myself, will be holding our noses and switching to Comcast if Verizon doesn't pick it up.
I too will be switching back to DirecTV this week if nothing changes with the EPL programming.
I agree with all the other posters: Verizon FIOS must carry the Premier League Extra Time channel! If not as part of the regular lineup, at least as an add-on. Thanks for considering!
I need some guidance in finding Fulham v Sunderland game channel on Saturday morning Aug. 17th?????
Argh! I can't believe Verizon hasn't gotten their act together yet on Premier League Extra Time. What the ***** is the hold up?! Obviously, a lot of their subscribers want this package and it's completely free. It just doesn't make any sense. I only recently switched from DirecTV to FIOS, so I'm still in my 30 day probationary period. I like what I've seen so far from FIOS, but if the Premier League Extra Time package isn't offered, I will be returning to DirecTV. They've already offered me all kinds of deals to come back. I don't want to leave, but I will if they make me miss my Everton games. Get off your rears and do something about this, Verizon!
I am shocked that is seems Fios hasn't step forward as a provider of this programming. I'm with many of the other posters here...if something doesn't change with Fios' plan to provide this, I also will be looking elsewhere for my service.
Get with the program, Fios. Your customers deserve this.
I cant believe Im sitting here jealous of all the people with Time Warner....
Seriously, how can they not offer Premier League Extra Time? Good god.
I see people posting this:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BR3-GeiCcAQFEQ8.jpg
And how can I not get jealous? Wake the ***** up Verizon. Other companies are catching up...really, really fast.
It's on channel EPL 492
I'll be on vacation for a week. After that, Verizon, fix this or I'm going back to Comcast. This really is a no brainer. Sports is the only reason for most consumers to *need* cable these days, therefore, you should make very sure you get sports coverage right, no?
Can anyone figure out how to access the NBCSports app - and get the matches? I keep trying to log on, but it says that I cannot watch the EPL matches w/o Golf Channel access(?). I'm glad that NBC Sports Network is carrying all the matches online, but it does me no good if I cannot watch them!
Not sure if it still applies but when NBC covered the olympics the signon required you to allow third party cookies for logons and not to have your cache clear on leaving your browser. Flash, which was used for that coverage, would honor the clear cache and toss the successful logon as it switched from the Verizon signon to the NBC site.
WHERE ARE THEY? I thought Verizon Fios was meant to be the cutting edge of Sports providers. EVERY other major provider offers them. PLEASE ADVICE?
Very dissapointing Verizon is nor carrying thids channel. VERY dissapointing...
All games not aired on NBC Sports Network will be made available to cable, satellite or telco TV providers through a package called Premier League Extra Time, a package of overflow television channels available at no extra cost for each of their customers who receives NBC Sports Network. Check with your provider for specific channel and Premier League offering available.
NO EXTRA COST... any news on this from verizon??

plz include NBC Premier League "Extra Time" games .... I just switched from Time Warner because of the CBS and Showtime fiasco ... Time Warner Cable had the EPL total TV games on additional/overflow stations and it was very nice. I hope and plead that Verizon Fios will add soon.
Time Warner can have this but we can't? Comon, please....not an unreasonable request.
it's not unreasonable...not at all, and this is finally the straw that broke the camel's back for me. i am sick and tired of FiOS not adding sports programming to it's lineup (or only offering it in SD). i will finally make the switch to DirecTV in the Winter when my FiOS contract is up.
first thing that has always bothered me is the number of channels only offered in SD (how many FiOS customers don't have HD, seriously?). then, there was the FSCHD fiasco along with the fact they charge seperately for FSC+ while only offering it in SD. then they took forever to add BeIN, and when they finally did, GOLTV became a spanish only SD channel (that i hwould ave to subscribe to via the spanish package even though i don't speak a lick of spanish). now there is no Premier League Extra Time (anyone want to bet it will be SD only when it is finally offered?), no FoxSports2 HD, no BeINSports2, etc. it's a never ending cycle with FiOS. they give me JUST enough to keep me around while DirecTV has been offering the best sports package IN HD for years...i'm done.
come Winter, it's good bye FiOS, and hellow occasional weather outage for the sake of having the sports i crave in HD the rest of the time.
it's a **bleep** shame.
just an update. FiOS' complete lack of a meaningful reponse and seemingly complete diregard for soccer fans has pushed me over the edge. i'm not even waiting for my contract to expire in April. i just set up a DirecTV installation and will have Premier League Extra Time on 9/14. Sorry FiOS. i will be keeping your internet service, but the constant delays in launching new HD sports programming when it's available elsewhere has pushed me over the edge with your TV offering...it's been real.
I'll just leave this here...

(We kicked FiOS TV to the curb for Time Warner Cable)
Bright House Networks and Directv have both picked up the new NBC Channel called Premier league extra time channel. Verizon are listed as being able to. Before I switch to either of those providers I'd like to find out if/when Verizon will offer that channel.
You currently only offer NBC Sports Live Extra which is an online stream of all the games. This is good, but the problem is online there is no option to record the games and so if I'm not available to watch the game live, it means I miss it. If you had the channel available on TV like the other providers listed I would be able to set my DVR.
Here is more info on it:
Premier League Extra Time is a bonus package of overflow television channels available at no extra cost to customers who receive NBC Sports Network. All English Premier League matches not aired on any NBCUniversal channel will be made available to distributors on Premier League Extra Time.Providers to offer the Premier League Extra Time package:AT&T U-verse®, Bright House Networks, Cablevision’s Optimum, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Cox, DIRECTV, Mediacom, Suddenlink, and Time Warner Cable.Providers to offer the additional matches via the TV Everywhere package: AT&T U-verse, Cablevision’s Optimum, Charter, Comcast’s Xfinity TV, Cox, DIRECTV, DISH, Suddenlink and Verizon FiOS
Jim
ADD THIS NOW! It is beyond absurd that you are the only major cable provider who does not offer this service. Get it done!!!
Its been 2 Months since the EPL started and still no live extra channels, what is worse is there has been no response by Verizon to the request. Also why cant we have fox Sports 2 in HD??
Come verizon you are falling behind.....
I would like to echo the sentiments of the other posters that these channels should have been offered months ago. I will most likely switch in April when my contract expires.
I am giving up waiting for FIOS to provide the Premier League Extra Time channels. It doesn't help that the Live Extra streaming service is woeful. Most games I tried to watch on my PC suffer buffering & stuttering problems. It is not a bandwidth issue as WatchESPN (ESPN3) works fine with minimal disruption in the streaming quality.
I absolutely agree with what you are saying. It is so ridiculous how slow they are responding to these demands. I still have mySatellite up in the roof that is left from when I switched 4 years ago. I am going back to DirecTv, there is no rhyme or reason to stick around with these people...
It is certainly not my internet connection. ESPN Go, Netflix, Vudu, Flixster and the BeIN Sports streams work perfectly. I have tried both eithernet and wireless. Case in point is the Spurs vs Stoke match today. The video would be fine for 20 seconds and then the video would stop for 2 minutes with audio only. The funny thing is that illegal stream of the same match from Russia works perfectly. Very disappointed in Verizon.
NBCsports (special package) will be broadcasting all the English league soccer games. I was very very upset to find out that Verizon Fios will not be including this in their programming. I don't understand why not. Comcast is. If this is not resolved, I will have to switch to Comcast. I do not want to because I am otherwise very happy with Verizon Fios. Is there a possibility that this may change or should I just switch now?
I TOTALLY AGREE.
WHY NOT ADD THE EXTRA CHANNELS. !!!
I HAVE WAITED MORE THAN A YEAR AND HAVE WAITED NOT TO SIGN ANOTHER CONTRACT UNLESS YOU PROVIDE THESE CHANNELS THIS YEAR.
EPL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND IF YOU DON'T HAVE THOSE CHANNELS AVAILABLE, I TOO WILL BE SWITCHING.
I agree with everyone else. Add the channels or i will switch!!!

The answer is NO, these are Peer to Peer forums. All the chest thumping about threatening to drop FiOS is rather pointless here. You're only complaining to fellow users.
According to the NBC site, "Barclays Premier League Extra Time games will be available soon on Verizon FiOS"
it better be very soon otherwise I am switching at the end of the month
The Idea Exchange has been archived pending upcoming changes. You can read the announcement on the forum landing page in the right hand column toward the bottom of the page

So is this a dead item? There is No Update on the channel at all? Direct TV is looking better by the day.
@Phractal33 wrote: Direct TV is looking better by the day.
Direct TV is looking better by the day.
Except when it rains and it magically disappears.
Evidently so. They never had any intention of carrying Premier League Extra Time
Same here Verizon need to step the game up I recently left Cablevision for Fios now no EPL on NBC Live Extra. They have to get it together or i be leaving for Cablevison sooner rather than latter.
Totally Agree, recently switched from Time Warner and now realize Fios doesn't have Extra Time. I don't want to watch the Arsenal on my computer. Seriously considering switching to Direct TV if they don't get it soon. I pay way too much for my cable not to have services that other providers have. COME ON FIOS, START CARRYING NBC EXTRA TIME!!!!
I have retained DirecTV as my primary carrier solely due to the absence of Extra Time on FiOS. If Verizon would add Extra Time, I would switch. I can't be the only one.
NBC sports extra time where is it????
Even if the 1 million viewers are in US, Verizon has less than 5% of total US households.
That would mean that only 5000 Verizon households would want to subscribe.
I have maintained DirecTV as my primary TV content provider SOLELY because of its full lineup of Premier League games. FiOS was supposed to start carrying them in 2013, but it never happened. Hoping this will change for the upcoming season, but considering that's only a month away and nothing has been announced, it doesn't appear likely. Is it a cost or capacity issue?
