FoxNow not available to Verizon subscribers

I missed the season finale episode of The Americans becuase I was away from home and my DVR had a software glitch so it did not record the episode. I thought I could watch it online, but FoxNow, which is where Fox streams it's TV episodes, says Verizon is not an authorized subscriber (or something to that effect.)

So there is no way to Verizon subscribers can watch past episodes of The Americans.

Does anyone know of a way around this? Or why Fox is denying access to Verizon people?

Fox on Demand on my STB has full episodes.

Fox.com allows me view full episodes when authenticated with Verizon FIOS TV using my userid and password.

FoxNow has full episodes on my android and Roku when authenticated with Verizon FIOS TV using my userid and password.

All three work fine for me.

Are you able to authenticate with your Verizon credentails ?

I made a mistake - The Americans is on the FX network, not the Fox network.

But my problem is the same - the FX network's VOD web page does not list Verizon as an authorized provider, so even though I have a valid Verizon ID it won't allow me to get authorized to see any episodes of any FX network program.

I don't understand how Verizon can carry the FX network and not be on their list of authorized providers. I'll try sending a message to someone at FX.

FX Website shows:

We're sorry but Verizon FiOS does not currently have access to FXNOW.

Next time Verizon negotiates with FOX for distribution it will probably get added...mostly likely will include rate hike.

Yes, I saw that same message and thought it was odd since FX is available on my FIOS TV service. It never occurred to me that FS would require more money to make their streaming available to people who were already subscribed for their cable content. HBO, for instance, does not do this.

You may be correct about Verizon attempting to raise rates for FX streaming. If they do this I will request a corresponding reduction in my rates due to the throttled Netfix service that renders viewing Netflix impossible. That's been going on for over a year now.

Well you are a unique situation since FoxNow is not part of a verizon pakage. For most everyone else all FOXNOW content does not show the option of Verizon as a provider to choose from

FOX NOW is available to Verizon FIOS subscribers. Just checked and it works.

FX NOW is not available at this time.
