Guide to show only what channels I pay for

Someone please tell me FIOS isnt actually worse than comcast! Ive had this for three days and I already want to tear my hair out with this guide.

It doesnt seem to give you the option of showing just the channels you receive forcing you to either memorize all of the channels or click on them and hope you get a picture instead of the dumb subscribe screen. On top of that the small boxes force you into memorizing all channels.

Can someone please tell me if the guide is capable of showing only the channels I pay for (and please dont say add a hundred channels to favorites, I refuse to have to do that for the money I am paying a month plus it negates the "favorites" part of the "favorites".)

On top of this the on demand is garbled along with many channels! Not a happy customer at the moment.

arrgh why do cable companies intentionally irritate their customers? Do they really think Im going to upgrade after this?

OK, I won't tell you to "add 100 channels to your favorites," but it's the only way to accomplish what you're looking to accomplish. (There are two favorites lists though.)

When the guide is displayed, press the "option" button on the remote. Select "subscribed channels." Press "OK."

If you press "guide" while the guide is displayed, it will cycle through various display modes. You may like these display options better than the default grid. There are also more guide options in the settings menu that can be used to change how big (or small) various parts of the guide appear.

I already did this. To be as clear as I can....it does not work. My guide is set to "subscribed" mode. It still lists numerous channels that I do not subscribe to which is why I took the time to post here. When you click on many channels it says you are not subscribed, blah blah press B to troubleshoot or subscribe. This is the most irritating thing I have seen in years.

It defeats the purpose of subscribe mode if Verizon is still pushing certain channels on you.

Do they have a "real subscribe mode"? or is it just the pretend subscribe mode?

It works for me. It does list a few channels such as Starz that I don't subscribe to, but not enough that it annoys me.

You could try asking Verizon directly to see if they can fix it for you. Follow the "contact us" link at the bottom of these pages.

Honestly, setting up one of your favorite lists to accomplish this is not that arduous a task. And you can do it on one box, then export those favorites (among other settings) to the FiOS "cloud," where you can then import them to any other DVR or STB in your setup. It may take about 5-to-10 minutes, if that.

I dont believe in supporting things that dont work correctly by finding work arounds. For this much money and this many people complaining about it, Verizon should have fixed it. Also, adding all the channels to your favorites negates the benefit of having favorites.
