I have a verizon DVR, a Samsung smart TV and a older DVD video recorrder (Toshiba model D-R410KU). I would like to connect the DVD video recorder to my TV but am not sure how to do it. Note that the DVD recorder instructions state that the HDMI connection may not work as HDMI techonology was new at the time the DVD recorder was made. Connect component out ports of DVD recorder to Component input ports on TV.
Use color coding.
Then just switch TV input between HDMI and Component depending on what you want to watch.
