You should either try to shut the firewal off and then try to run it of keep an eye open for a pope up let you know that the following program is trying to run a script do you want to allow, it going to recommed blocking by default most Customer will go with the recommendation..
Please see if this solves you trouble
Good Luck
After 10 plus hours with Verizon's Technical group and Microsoft's Technical group, I can now open Verizon's 9.2 software upgrade.
Microsoft's Technical Support Group resolved the issue.
Microsoft un-installed a Roxio software program from my computer that conflicted with Verizon's Media Manager. The Microsoft support group provided exceptional technical knowledge that Verizon's technical group could not provide.
Having the same problem.
Uninstalled QuickTime, no error codes, C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\Driver doesn't exist.
Installer just says interrupted cannot completeUsing Vista Ultamate
Ok, several different possibilites with installer issue. Try this, Click on Start and Run. Type the following:
regsvr32 C:\WINDOWS\system32\vbscript.dll
Then click OK.
HI Brian
Ran that command as Admin.... then tried media manger install... failed as it did previously

I installed and setup media manager on my PC today, scanned the folders I wanted available for photos and music. Then I sat in front of my home theater, the STB found my computer and the folders. The photos look really good on my Sony. Then I started a folder of music sorted by artist, and all was well and good.
The only thing that bothers me, when it is playing music with the MM, the tuner is still pushing a signal to the TV. I know I could probably just turn off the Sony, but I like to know what song is playing, as well as ET and time remaining. Is there a way to turn off the tuner on the STB when pulling audio files to my theater system through the STB?
I have a folder of pictures that has them in numerical order and i would like them to stay that way. When i copy the folder into media manager it puts them in a different order and I can't get them to go back in numerical order. Is there a way to have them arranged in numerical order?
EVERYBODY else has this problem, since it's not designed/programmed to allow you to do that. You can only watch content from the beginning to the end. Period.
Pretty lame design, but that's what it is (for now?)
I've played around a bit and have a few questions/comments:
Music:
1. Is there a button to "shuffle" a play list? What buttons do what on the remote? All I seem to be able to do is go forward and back. No pause or shuffle.
2. I find navigating the music a bit difficult. I would like to be able to go Artist/Album like in other music programs (like iTunes). It seems I can either go by Artist OR Album here, not Artist first and then into that artist's albums.
3. The songs by album are in alpha, not numeric order
4. I have a huge music collection -- there should be a way to jump down, for example, the artist menu more quickly. (In my old Tivo version, I could use digits 1-9 on the remote to go a percentage through menu -- i.e. if I wanted to go to "Los Lobos", or about halfway through the alphabet, I would choose "4" or "5".
Video:
1. My videos play in a small box on the screen -- can it be expanded to the whole TV?
2. Some of my .avi files play, and some don't. (The ones that don't are home videos from minidv, captured by WinDV)
3. I'll echo the request to be able to "control" the video file with pause, etc.
Anybody lend any help?

I'm not an expert, although I know enough to say that MM needs a LOT of work. To your questions:
(1) No. Hardly any buttons do ANYTHING. There is no PAUSE. There is no SHUFFLE. If you make a playlist in MM on your PC, then you can play that playlist in order on your DVR.
(2) Agreed
(3) Yup
(4) Yup - there SHOULD be, but isn't
(1) Yes. Press the OK button while a video is playing to call up another menu with Full-screen as an option.
(2) Terrible problem for me as well. It seems random when MM decides that it will or will not play seemingly supported formats. The BIGGEST problem w/ MM if you ask me,
(3) Agree - it should be there, but is not. REALLY poor Human Engineering on this to date.
I hope fixes are on the way.
