Using the "last watched" used to be one step. This morning Verizon changed it to a 2 step action. Hate it. How do I go back to the old, one step action.
I just found out that you can disable this and go back to the old version.Go to Settings - System - TV - Last Watched Rail - Disable
What is Optimum because I'm getting fed up with FIOS.
Thank you,
**bleep** is the point of this new feature?
agreed.. people love to complain about such things.
Did you go back in and verify the setting change saved properly?
This is not a function of the remote, but the option on the STB.
You can buy the older remotes that will work with the new boxes.
This made my day. That Last button change they shoved onto everyone really SUCKED.
Thank you!
How do I override the stupid new "last" button feature that the Verizon Thought Control Police enabled?
Read the first page of this thread.
Solution is posted there.
I also hate it. I want to go to my last channel not view my history. UGH! What a pain.
What idiot came up w/ the change to the "Last" button on the remote?
It used to do exactly what it said, take you to the last channel you were watching. Now I press Last and get a 2-3 second delay then get a menu which requires me to then press the enter button to get back to the last channel.
VZ software\remote control response has always been slow, now it's more painful.
What's next, when I press the Mute button the sound stays on until I get a menu?
Guess I should have read further down before posting. I see a solution was posted.
HATE the new "Last" button! It makes me press so many buttons now, when before I only pressed one button! The "Last" button is supposed to make it CONVENIENT to go back to the last channel, but now I have to press AT LEAST 2 buttons if I am lucky. When returning to a DVR'd show, it many times makes me go to the beginning of the DVR list of shows. If I am watching a show that is lower on my DVR list, I have to scroll down so far!
VERIZON FIOS TV! PLEASE PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK ! PLEASE!
Why did Verizon change the last button functionality. Before you could hit last and go directly to the last channel viewed. Now you have to stop on this intermediary page and hit enter. Bad move. Makes you loose seconds of the show you want to go back too.
Thank you. That had to be one of the dumbest "upgrade" ideas ever!
Thank you so much.
What an asinine change by Fios. I also noticed that if you don't clear your recent channels watched and it brings up a list of like 20 programs, it takes FOREVER for the ribbon to load. It should always be a one-button push. Dumb dumb dumb Verizon.
Thanks again for bringing back my sanity. Last means last.
Your my hero brother!!! Not all hero's wear capes
This has to be one of the most annoying changes Verizon has ever made. Thank you to the poster who posted the work around, it worked for me. However, unless people know to search for the solution online a lot of people would figure they were stuck with this incredibly annoying change.
I hate this new feature! Thank God there is a disable setting. It would be useful if you could launch the menu on a long hold/press. But usually you just go back and forth so this just makes it a painful experience....and yeah..I "got it" you ruined the ease of the last button...got it!
Thank You for this tip to disable the feature.
When I hit (Last), I want to go back to the last channel I watched. I don't want a menu to click through, which adds extra button work than just hitting one button.
Let me add my vote. This was a terrible "innovation".
I use the "last" feature to toggle quickly between two channels - usually competing sports events. With the current process, there is too long a gap, rendering it practically useless. I don't think a history of "last"s is something anyone needs.
Agreed. So happy it can be turned off
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Whoever came up with that idea to have all your last watched channels can't want to change back quickly. I hated the new way they did it and was so grateful to find your solution. (New and improved - seldom is !! )
Thank you, that worked! I HATE the new Last Watched "feature"!
Two thumbs up for this information. I didn't mind so much having the last nine channels but not being able to rewind any of them was a deal breaker. Back to one I go!
Adding my 2 cents. I very much dislike the new last button. Now, I never use it. It lags too much.
Every time someone posts to this, I get an email because I posted a reply here. Perhaps it is just me, but the Solution has been posted multiple times, and this topic has been beaten to death. You can use it OR not use it. Problem resolved. It is time this was closed. In short, Enough already!
THANK YOU! Hated that feature. So glad I can now go back to the good ole days of just hitting last and it just goes there.
Awesome solution...worked immediately, thank you!
Totally Agree!
Thanks very much. It was a real pain.
