My On Demand menu has changed and I do not like the new one. Is there any way to get back the old menu for On Demand? I cannot find anything now.
Assuming you got the new one that has been discussed elsewhere, then the answer is no.
While it is new there is a chance that if you and others can make specific suggestions or report bugs, they may make changes.
I'm really not happy with the new menu system for VOD. I mostly look for things on the Premium channels and the "list" seems to have been replaced with "images". It was a slow slog before, but now it's impossible.
Is there some way to get the simple listing of program names like before? The way it is now VOD is almost useless.
Checked out the new search feature for Mars the new NATGEO program that starts next week. All it does is come up with a picture since I guess it hasn't aired as yet. You used to be able to find out if it was airing in the next week or two, channel and time. Is there any place else to get this information now or did Verizon break something that was perfectly fine?
Mars has already started.
Are you looking for air dates or on demand episodes?
For air dates, try hitting b and using that search.
That should give you air dates
Afternoon. Not 100% sure this is the right place. I wanted to complain about the new on-demand menus. First of all it keeps offering tips and such to go through. Secondly it sucks! It takes forever to scroll through it. Super pushes what they want you to rent/buy. It's clunky to maneuver and they should have left well enough alone. Ugh. I know nothing can be done about it, but I needed to vent in case someone reads this and would see how **bleep** I am. Stop screwing with things. UGH
Totaly agree! The new menu is a nightmare! They need to go back to the original menu.
The new menu is terrible! It is ridiculously cumbersome to use.
Does anyone know how to complain to Verizon about the new diffecult to use VOD menu? I cant find an email address or even a phone # to call to let them know my dissatisfaction.
We have just noticed that the on demand menu has changed on us. IMO, it is much harder to find what we are looking for. Also there are some shows that we know should be in the on demand listings that we cannot even find anymore.
Is there any way to revert to the previous menu?
I wish there was a way to go back. It was updated the beginning of December and it is horrible. It doesn't even work. I've been reluctant to call CS as I know it will get me nowhere and take an hour of my time. Last night I had to use my Roku to watch the final episode of Westworld on HBO GO because the new Fios on demand menu initially wouldn't let me select the last episode and then later in the evening the last episode wasn't even on the menu to pick? Why they can't leave things alone that actually work is beyond me. They apparently are using the Microsoft update playbook..........throw a half @#!$ update out there and let the customers let us know what doesn't work.
New On Demand Format is absolutely terrible. Movies within Premium channels are images instead of titles and take forever to scroll through. I plan to change to Comcast or cancel all premium channels because it's so time-consuming that it has discouraged me from even bothering to search premium channels.
The new on demand interface shows movie posters and you need to arrow over each poster to see the title. There is no way to quickly scan movies and the posters are worthless anyway. How do you just see a list of movies or shows that are available?
I cannot believe that someone actually thought the interface of movie posters was functional. This is the type of thing that will make me change cable providers. It's unusable as it is now.
Thanks.
I reviewed the new fios "on demand menu" which it was clearly slow and in need of updating. I was hoping Verizon was going to improve it considerably; however, I feel the missed the point and took features already available making it difficult to navigate. It is clear that response between screens and navigation is faster; but, my biggest gripe is for searching movies, especially on the premium channels where you now cannot search by categories. I dont need to scroll though 500 movies if I am interested in a drama movie. Also, there is no capability to search new movies added or latest releases. I also would like to search by movie release date instead of scrolling through hundreds of old movies. I think the updates were needed; but, it can vastly be improved including functionality the old menu already had. I hope Verizon can fix these glitches that can be easily corrected.
mdumen
How do I view the "recently added" movies like I used to do on my premium channels like Cinemax,Epix, and Stars? There used to be an option for that but can't find it. Help!
Is there anyway to switch back to the old on demand layout? The new one is anoying.
No.
All we can hope is that FiOS will move forward and make improvements.
No different that Microsoft did with windows vista or 8.
I agree with you, while the old demand menu had it issues the newest version is slow and extremely hard to navigate. It might be the time to look at alternative providers.
Why has the interface for on demand been changed to a format that is completely unnavigable? In order to choose a program, you now need to scroll through graphics where before you could scroll up and down choices that were text based, and make your selection.
Previously, there were several on-demand channels that had this new format that I avoided for this very reason- I dont want to look at the picture, I want to look at the text. I do not want to scroll through movie icons and read small titles to get to what I am looking for.
Change it back or give me a text-based option. I dont want to waste five minutes to find a show. It's absurd, difficult to read, difficult to navigate.
I've been a loyal customer for years and you'll lose me shortly if this brilliant advancement is not corrected.
Dont you people QC this for user experience before rolling it out?
Good to know I'm not alone. The new system is horrible. And they don't even label movies properly. Especially the free ones.
I agree with everyone on this post. This new VOD is very slow and more difficult and time consuming to maneuver since the pictures take up so much room (versus a list). I also cannot find any simple way to voice a complaint and roll back to the old or start over!! Ugghh. So frustrating.
Is it just me,or do the changes made to on demand suck. Now the premium channels only show pictures of the movies or series instead of an easy list .Before you could easily scroll to just added. Now you have to scroll through a bunch of pictures to see if anything new has been added.
Awful. Just awful. I don't even want to open the demand menu. it makes me ill.
Verizon Fios once again pushed upgrades that are horrendous.I find the new OnDemand menu to be completely unusable with picture tiles and no show titles.
More than half of the pictures are unreadable and some have no show title at all. You are forced to stand in front of TV to read and scroll to each picture and click on it to read the show title. Additionally only 4-6 show on a screen instead of easily reading a show list of 12 or so. As usual Verizon just says too bad and I am sorry and are not willing to fix the situation.
If you are looking for something new to watch or are trying to see which of your weekly shows has a new episode you have to click through at least 30-70 picture tiles to find anything. Wonder if they will reimburse for carpal tunnel. Now instead of browsing to a network show in 4 to six moves it can be over 20-30 depending on the title of the show. And I just signed a new 2 year contract they won't let me out of.
Again they are extortionist crooks. They can completely blow out your service and just say sorry. The Customer service is useless and infuriating.
You are on hold and transferred to just get another person that can not help. These utility companies should be held liable for their changes and customers should be able to opt out easily if it is not a satifcatory change.
Wonder what brain trust pushed this enhancement without market testing. They should be fired,
The difference with Vista or 8 is that Microso0ft gave you the CHOICE to upgrade and you could back your computer out. Verizon hplds us all hostage for their inadequacies
We also hate the new VOD menu. We rented a movie and due to the new cumbersome menu instead of paying for the movie with our rewards points, we were charged for it instead. Also having to pay for previously free network shows is ridiculous.
The new On Demand Format is absolutely useless!!!
The premium channels are images instead of titles and take forever to scroll through.
I hate this new on demand menu. I don't want to scroll through all the images of shows or movies to find what I am looking for. The old menu was fine. I can't find anything and give up looking. Why fix something that wasn't broken???????? I want the old way back. I may switch to Comcast or go without cable if it is such a hassle to find a show. I pay too much money every month to put up with this nonsense. They made a mistake. Didn't it get tested before rolling this garbage out on the consumer?
I just went to watch a SyFy show OnDemand and discovered this completely unusable new menu system! I looked at HBO and it is also insanely ridiculous! I cannot find anything quickly as I used to be able to do.
Why on earth has this been changed?
Please switch it back to what was working perfectly fine!
The new menu for On Demand Programming is horrible. I Hate it!!!!
I could not find any place else to provide feedback, so I am posting it here.
