All,
Verizon is rolling out new vod menus.
For details, check this link.

To those explaining how to get to premium channel VOD options, I ask: Are there more steps to find premium channel VOD options? Are Verizon Fios VOD options (transactional) more prominently placed? Yes and yes, IMO. I pay for premium channels. Can I substantiate that menu changes were intended to push our family to buy more VOD from them? No. Can I say that the Company's menu "upgrade" has made it substantially harder to get the content that I want out of premium channels for which I pay? Absolutely.
The VOD menus are terrible. It's impossible to scroll thru available movie and shows on all of my Premium subscriptions. I've called twice to no avail. Want fast text scrolling. Need to check menu options on other provider.
Completely agree!!!
There is no way to filter these ridiculous posters to be family friendly either. Fios failure.
Verizon needs to change their video on-demand back to the old one the new one is terrible and takes forever to try to find a movie I really wish I knew what they were thinking

Never going to happen. After all the change is now many months old. Best you can possibly get them to do is to listen to concrete suggestions on improvements they might make. And their is no good place to make those suggestions. I suspect this thread has been tuned out by the support team if they ever were reading it.
The change in navigation when you hit menu to go to on-demand several months ago where there are a bunch of blocks makes it difficult to impossible to find anything on the HBO channels for someone who is just using TV and a remote. The blocks aren't the same size, they are hard to read, and they aren't even in alphabetical order. To scroll, I have to keep hitting the remote. As a result, I don't use the area. But I found out that Game of Thrones had come back and, even though I had it set up to record, that did not happen. But after looking 4 times, I still can't find the current season that has already played. The navigation makes me want to scream. And I don't rent movies anymore because of it. Whoever "designed" this navigation is incompetent. In addition, white type on black is very hard to read, another mistake made by inexperienced, incompetent designers. Many think these things are cool, typical of the inexperienced, but forgot there is a broader audience and not everyone uses a phone or tablet or likes playing with kindergarten blocks.
So let me start by saying I am not particularly enamored with the new VOD design.
But I didn't find it overly difficult to find GOT.
I just went to TV, premiums, HBO, Series.Scroll over to GOT (you can hold next button down to jump fast that scrolling).Select GOT and all seasons are there.
Searching for specific movies and series when you aren't sure of the network can be a bit more cumbersome, but I find the search to be quite useful.
This new screen is very difficult to maneuver. The lag time is unacceptable. Searching through movies takes forever as you are showing pictures as opposed to titles only. If there is an easier way I would love to know; such as starting to typing in the title of the movie (similar to using the search box) or being able to select by alphabetical grouping (A-D, E-G, etc.). Bottom line: this change is awful. Please consider going back to the old versiion.
ps. If you were looking for a creative project manager I'm available.
I have scrolled through everyone of these complaints and have yet to see Verizon respond. Terrible customer service.

This is a peer to peer support forum.
Verizon does not monitor and respond.
Now that it's nearly impossible to browse premium on demand movies and series, I may drop all premimun channels on GOT is over. It's not worth all the extra money as most of our premium content viewing is browsed on demand.
I had the same issue, told survey that I would email customer service. Not possible. Chat was busy. No telephone number available for the telephone company.

Phone number is always 1-800-verizon. Although its hard to get to someone about complaints in any case.
If trying to report things about the VOD try to make your comments to Verizon specific. Don't say its terrible, suggest things e.g. new filter or sort options.
Has anyone had issues with the new On Demand interface? A few months back if I recall Verizon updated the On Demand Interface. It performs very poorly. 10-15 second delays are typical with each keystroke on the remote, which makes it nearly impossible to browse. Has anyone else experience this? Are there any updates on the way to improve performance?
What model STB do you have?
I have not seen that type of delay with Quantum hardware.
A plea to the FiOs techies... I have to say, I've been a happy FiOs customer since they first hung their fiber in Yonkers. For the first time in over 10 years, I've had thoughts of switching my TV service. The new On-demand interface is absolutely maddening. I have 75/75 and loading the On-Demand screen is hugely demanding (no pun intended). No other interface on my network operates in such a letharic manner. The navigation of it is super annoying and slow. Side scrolling through innumerous show icons ... Lord help you if the show begins with Z!! Is there anyway to streamline this interface to make it more resonsive and quick to load? I mean, the Netflix interface that steams over wi-fi is infinitely more responsive. Not sure why this one is so horribly sluggish and clunky. Please, please, please improve this interface!
I have Quantum and find it fairly responsive.
And you can expedite side scrolling by holding the FFWD button.
CRobGauth, thanks for your tip that the FastForward button lets you scroll one page at a time. This was the tip I was looking for.
I do not know if it is posted elsewhere, but one thing I figured out is that when scrolling through a long set of shows, you jump to the categories on the left side by choosing "Previous".
However, the system is still sluggish which only Verizon can fix.
Fios on demand needs to be change back th way it was. It is awful never works, unfriendly use. Please Verizon do something
I totally agree with your post... question...have you figured out where the cinema after dark is hidden?
On demand is just awful terrible service, screen goes black when trying to choose an option. Is the worst program they use for on de,and, please go back to old program we used on demand.
Outside of ever hiking pricing i was happy with Comcast! I am NOT ok with trying to find Movies, TV etc with Fios, i do not like having to go thru up down left right up down to find what i can watch.. and to go online to veiw programming it DOES NOT give me the ability to as comcast did mark something for viewing on my TV (not computer) also it very vague was to what is free what prices are.. when i call and ask why some thing say rent/buy when free or why tv shows i have to pay to view that are currently on tv.. they say "IT DEPENDS".. **bleep** depends? i ask why some shows i can view free on comptuer but same show i cannot view on any of my tvs.. again "IT DEPENDS".. well its gonna depend if i take this crap out my home. I dont like when going thru menus to all and overload of kiddie programs..that i have to sort past.. is there no monthly email that shows you whats available.. i just do not get this system.. it's like a maze.. nothing is simple .. and ALSO if i stop a movie on.. on demand and go back to it.. its restarts from the beginnilng COMCAST had simple system.. u chose to restart or continue.. this FIOS is the **bleep**s im ok with internet and phone (even that Comcast use to show who's calling on my tv ) this give u no idea .. im locked in but if i get a deal that another provider will buy out..im ditchin this.
Content providers choose whether VOD content is free or has a charge.
I agree I don't understand why some providers will charge on VOD but free on their site.
Maybe they are trying to drive traffic to their site instead of allowing it on demand.
Verizon made a change to VOD to put free and pay content together.
Before, you would initially see free content. You would then have to navigate to another portion of VOD area to find additional episodes that were available for a fee.
I agree. It' really frustrating and I'm a newer customer. I gave up. It takes too long to search. Add better filters please that I can pick and choose from. Let me have a way just to see all movies in the VOD library and sort based on my preference. Also, the responsiveness of the box is slow. It reminds me of an older service. Not something I'd expect from Verizon being that it' a major carrier.
I know others have complained but I'm adding a message so its on the top as it's been a year and the interface is still terrible.
It takes way too long to scroll through and search for what you want to see. Very frustrating. TWC (now Spectrum) was much easier!
Also please stop making us click through your messages when we first turn on the TV
So annoying!!!!
What messages are you seeing?
Most of these can be disabled in settings.
Also, there is no reason to turn STB off.
Doesn't save any electricity.
Just turn TV off an on.
I totally agree. I cannot believe that they have not changed this back. Hey Verizon - go look at the interface of any streaming service and copy that. I have to watch HBO Go on my Amazon stick instead of the on demand service just so I can find what I want to watch. Deplorable.
I find their VOD menus to be quite similar to a number of the streaming services I have on my Roku.
All are ICONs that you have to scroll through to find what you want.
Did you ever find a fix for filtering new movies on the premium channels? This new format SUCKS. Having to dig through the whole library just makes me want to go to Redbox. Sigh.
So this nightmare of a "menu" is new? I just switched to Fios about a week ago and so far I HATE IT.To "search" for a show one is forced to scroll thru what feels like hundreds of thumbnails for every show produced since the invention of the television. No wonder they lock you into a contract - probably the only way to keep customers.
I'm really missing my Comcast/Xfinity!!!!
