The storm last night must have done some damage. I am not getting many programs on FIOS as well as the phone line is down. My cell phone does not have any bars as well. Good thing the FIOS internet is working. Anyone else experiencing these problems?

Update on my FIOS TV...

I was wrong... I don't have all the FIO channels... locals (504, 505, 507, 508, 509) and other premium not working... I do have CNN and NBC Sport network (590)....

So it looks like it is related to some sort of outage with the FIOS TV system...

My mistake was to try and reboot my set top in the other room and the box has never come back...

the non HDTV set top works only with select channels as well... and I did not reboot the box...

Looks like whatever controls the signals to the box is hosed up...

Also, based upon the last picture on the screen of the bad HDTV set top... i lost that set top sometime around 1145.. last night

Cell service is very dead... and searches for SVC area...

guess we have to thank the weather for this one...

No TV in Leesburg.  Box just sits there trying to "set up".  I unplugged it last night, so it didn't take any surges.  I just got a telemarketer call though, so phone seems to be OK.  Internet is obviously OK too.  Cell phones are working.

Verizon really does stink at customer communication and support.  Both on wireless and Fios sides.  Thankfully I haven't needed support much, but when you do, it makes you want to cancel everything just to never have to deal with them ever again.

No FiOS TV in Leesburg VA.  The interesting thing is that TV was working last night after the storm.  Thankfully, and don't want to jinx it, Internet is alive and kicking.

I gave up trying to use the self-support tools, which got me nowhere...

Hope they can bring the TV back to normal, or my 6-year old will drive us nuts!

Centreville,VA-TV and land lines out. All was working last night shortly after midnight. Woke up this morning with no services. Tried reseting boxes with no luck. AT&T cell services is spotty at best for some reson, so cant call verizon and their internet help is horrible. Cant even log in with out system timing out.

For those who don't have working FIOS TV... If you have NOT rebooted your set top box, try going to CNN or other channels to see if some work...    I have found that my CNN works ok and I have at least 6 other channels..

So what looked like dead FIOS TV to me.. has a bit of life...

If you have rebooted your set top as I did in one room, then you are SOL... cause there is no talking to the mother ship when the box finishing its reboot... you will get the standard -- - -- - --- display and the set top will have no mind at all...

hope this help...

BTW, there is always Internet TV... if you can figure it out....

Fairfax City here.  Fios TV and land-line phone not working (not even a dial tone).  Internet and cell phone are working.  I can't get anyone at Verizon on the phone... just keep getting the "all circuits are busy" message when I try to call.  Clearly they are aware of the problem since it looks like a few people have gotten through to them.  What I find frustrating the most is that they have made no attempt to give any information to their customers.  At the very least I would expect a posting on this website from them saying something like "We are aware of a problem in your area and are working to resolve it."  But I have found nothing.  Completely ridiculous!!

I'm in Woodbridge have been on hold for over an hour - no TV - just says it's downloading updates and nothing comes up - and can't find a darn thing on the Verizon pages telling where they have outages.  You'd think they could have this info on their home page....

i get storms i understand stuff happens. what i dont understand is the unwillingness of a company to post when stuff happens. i spent a frustrating hour plugging and unplugging phones, trying to call, only to find an answer in the forums. technololgy is great but not at expense of alientating customers with this "everything you need to know can be found on the web" mentality.

Fios is out here in Fairfax as well. However, when you call customer support, provide the "code", you are then brought to a cue that asks you to take a customer service survey. Really?  You haven't done anything yet! You are then transferred and are informed that there is "no one available to take your call at this time", and promptly disconnected...

Here is what I think about Verizon's Customer Service:  If both of their hands were free, and they had a map with a picture of their body, and on the map their {word filter avoidance} was circled in red and labeled " THIS IS IS YOUR {word filter avoidance}", They still couldn't find their own {word filter avoidance}...

We have some TV and Internet is going strong here in 22026 (Montclair/Southbridge/Dumfries), but no landline phone (Verizon digital) or wireless (Verizon as well) cell service. Luckily my hubby's AT&T work cellphone seems to be working for now.

Hopefully Verizon gets this fixed soon or at least gives those of us without phones an ETA! With the 911 service in Fairfax and Prince William also being down, and I assume on Verizon, I hope that fixing this become a priority!

UPDATES would be wonderful Verizon.

Thank you!

The only thing I'm happy about is the fact I'm not the only one in Lake Ridge with the problem.  Fortunately I have the Internet but was hoping to watch some Wimbledon and Tiger.  Hopefully it will be fixed soon.  That was some wind major windstorm last night followed by a massive amount of lightning and thunder.  I'm surprised there's not more damage!

Best regards to all,

Jim

Has anyone in Northern VA gotten their service fully back? In Burke, I'm still waiting to get phone and Internet service back. Seems like it is randon on what is happening on FIOS. Great Service Verizon. NOT!!

Finally got thru to a representative online thru the Support Chat after waiting in the queue for over an hour. Rep. tells me there's an outage. I knew that. Rep. sends me to a Supervisor. Supervisor tells me there's an outage. Awesome. I ask if he knows when service will be restored. He says no. I ask if he has any details as to why there is an outage 12 hours after the storm passed over VA. He can only say that the storm is to blame. That was so informative. Fingers crossed they get this resolved quickly, as that would be their only saving grace after not notifying any of their customers of this outage (or even being aware of it themselves when it first occured).

Remember those funky "rabbit ear" things we were all required to purchase a couple of years ago for a tv not connected to cable?  Fortunately, I have one in my guest room - think I'll see if I can grab some news in the "non-FIOS" world as FIOS can't seem to figure it out.  I'm in Ashburn - land line still OK, internet still OK.  Stay strong out there!
