Poor Audio Mix on Fox NFL Telecasts

During the current NFL season I have noticed that the audio on Fios' Fox HD NFL telecasts is drowned out by crowd noise and other background noise -- even the stadium public address announcer. The TV commentators are barely audible. The audio on yesterday's Green Bay-Philadelphia playoff game was particularly bad! My hearing has admittedly declined with old age, but I do not notice this problem on the studio segments on Fox sports, on football telecasts on other networks, or on other types of TV shows. I don't even notice it very much on the Fox standard definition game telecast. It's only the Fox NFL telecasts in high-def.
So I can't figure out who to blame. I don't really have an easy way to compare my service to that of neighbors using other providers. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this problem and found the cause or a workaround. For what it's worth, I'm a Fios subscriber in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., and I'm watching WTTG in Washington on a Vizio LCD HDTV, using only the audio equipment built into the TV. Both the TV and my Fios service are about 5 months old. Thanks for any help.

It is most likely a FOX issue (from your local affiliate) as Verizon passes the signal exactly as sent by the local affiliate. I didn't notice any issue with the 5.1 audio on that game in VHO8 on channel 29 (don't know which VHO / affiliate you are getting your feed from).

Thanks for the reply. I did a little further research on the Fios distribution system, and I suspect you're on the right track. I would almost certainly be serviced by the Video Hub Office in Silver Spring, MD (VHO4), and as I said, I see the problem when watching the local Fox affiliate in Washington, D.C. So it makes sense to think this would be just a local or regional problem. Hopefully some other subscribers in this region will chime in if they experience the same problem.

This has absolteuly NOTHING to do with FiOS or Verizon, it's a problem with Fox.

I am having the same issue with the Saints-Bucs telecast. Every so often I get the full audio for a couple of seconds, then it goes bad again. Definitely only on Fox.
