Set up my new Fios tv one equipment last night and Im having trouble powering off the tv with the voice remote. When i push the power button, it rarely powers off the tv. The STB will shut off almost every time. But the tv will usually stay on. Sometimes I get lucky and they both turn off. The tv's are all samsung, 6 & 7 series. Anyone having this issue? I reset the remote and that didnt resolve the problem. Tried the manual pair too. Also tried holding the remote sideways. Please help!

Are you re-pairing the remote to the box, or going into the menu and choosing the TV make and model of your TV for the remote to operate? Also you do have to point the remote at the TV, the Fios one box works with bluetooth,, so you don't have to point it there. Go to Menu > Settings > Voice Control > Fios TV Voice Remote > Program Voice Remote > Manual Setup > Press ‘OK’ to select. Choose your TV > Press OK.

I've noticed this sometimes too. If i quickly tap the power button it doesnt' seem to trigger the TV, if I give it a more distinctive press it generally works.
For one of my TV's I went through and did the manual setup of the remote, not sure if it made a difference though.

I fixed this issue by manually pairing the TV using the Settings menu. You get to select your specific model and that does the trick.

Fios Voice remote does NOT power off completely. Almost immediately after pressing the Shut off button, the viewing channel is gone, BUT another screen pops up with the Fios picture on the screen, time at the button and the Fios emblem moves around the screen.

As I've said in other related threads the 4100 boxes NEVER turn off completely. They ALWAYS display a screen saver at the simplest, and recommendations on what to watch if you dont disable them. Just shut off the TV and it's over. If the TV won't shut off you need to disable CEC in the TV or disable Video Input Control in the video settings menu in the Fios box.

We just installed Fios one. We were having a problem with our sound system, TV, and new Fios one box turning off and on together. The technician told us that the Fios one box is wireless so you can have the remote pointing anywhere and turn that on and off. But our TV and our sound system are infrared so we need to point the remote at those devices to turn off/on/change sound level. Pointed at it then everything works at once.

Manually setting up the remote for my MU8000 Samsung tv worked for me. I was having the problem with auto setup option only turning off the stb and not the tv sometimes.

Yes, if what I posted above doesn't work, then un-link the remote and start over. I assume you have the 4100 boxes right?

My remote(s) keeps unpairing from my TV and wont shut off the tv and sometimes the volume control stops working even after manually setting up by entering manufacturer and model. Works for a day "maybe" them unpairs again. Happens with 3 of my TVs CONSTANTLY! So far NOT A FAN of these new boxes.
Also, when a remote falls on the floow off a couch or bed, also unpairs. Changed the batteries...no help...

Try killing power to all but one box. Un-pair, then re-pair the remote for that box including manually setting up the TV info. Do the same for all 3 boxes, having only one box powered on at a time. When all 3 are done, turn the others on.

Fios VOICE REMOTE I have tried for weeks many of the so-called “solutions” on the internet and also the “canned” answers by Verizon. None work. I have paired and unpaired the remote to the STB, I have selected the Samsung smart TV and Model number in the Manual setup under Settings, none work to do the most basic job of turning off the TV.
Chanel change work, sound work, voice work, just not TURN OFF TV.

I really hope you posting this 3 times in one thread and again in 2 other threads is a mistake. People are trying to help you and this kind d of behavior is detrimental to the entire process. Please give the techs some time to figure this out, they are spread very thin with the current world situation, but I'm sure you are aware of this.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I have no idea many times whether it got posted. It is not like so many boards, even e-mail, where I can see at once my response. Sorry.
BUT I have never gotten a response from Tech. that fixes this and I can see that MANY people have the same problem.

I have been trying to tell you that support is now aware of the issue and are working on a fix. Please have patience in the mean time. Besides Verizon updates many TV manufacturers update their devices in the background and sometimes those updates break functionality. Give it some time as inconvenient as it is. There are people trying to figure it out for you.

I need your EXACT setup information. TV make, model STB model, how everything is hooked up, any other equipment in the chain.
