4) Press 9 - 5 - 5. The STB key will blink twice.
5) Press the STB key (if that is the device you want to control the volume).
That should do it, at least it does on my DVR, just tested it. If you want to go back to the Volume key controlling the TV volume, hit the TV key in Step 5.
