My Fios set top turns off in the middle of the night but the Tv doesn't turn off with it. Not sure what the point of the timer is if it doesn't turn the tv off along with it. Is there a setting for that?

STB has no control over the TV.
Does your TV have a night timer on it?
Mine has the capability to select either an idle time or turn off at a specific time.
