TV has inconsistent sound

We have inconsistent sound from the TV. Using the remote with either channel selector or entering the number, channel sound is hit or miss. Might get it one time and then not another. Scrolling up or down same thing. Using the back button same thing. When sound does come on for a channel, it may not be there if channel is changed and then returned. Did a sound check on the TV, it's okay. Picture is fine, all the channels come in. Any ideas?

Some tv's cannot handle DOLBY Digital sound and you need to find the option to turn it off. If I remember right, From on, hit poser off on the stb, then on the remote ok, and menu.

I also recommend you find the audio option in settings and make sure you set it to fixed.

The TV has been working fine for almost two years. This problem of no sound just started. Turn tv on, no sound. Press the 'previous' button several times, it comes on. Press again it goes off. Change channel with selector, maybe sound. Change channel with numbers, maybe sound. Press 'previous' several times, sound.

Performed sound test on TV, works fine. I am thinking either remote or STB. Mystery.
