I just bought a Visio Soundbar from Costco, but am unable to get its remote code (as shown in the Visio manual it's 1517) to work with the Verizon remote. I've tried the 9-2-2 method to scan, but no luck. I need help!!
The remote does have codes for Vizio TV's but not for any of their audio devices. The remote has over 300 codes to try to encompass as many devices as possible, but even then, some devices will not be compatible. So if you used the Vizio provided code and the 922 option failed, then there's most likely no compatible code. You will have to use the Vizio provided remote to control that device.
Here's the link to the FiOS remote support page, if you want to see the manual or try some of the codes again.

Has Verizon found a remote that supports the Visio Soundbar VSB200 yet? Works fine on Comcast.
I have been able to program Comcast remotes for my VSB201 (though it isn't that straightforward to do), but I still see no ability to do it if I switch to Fios. So you might say that is a consideration for me to know that I will be able to control my equipment at least as effectively as I can with Comcast, in whether we will switch from Comcast to FiOS.
(In Comcast, you can program an unsupported device by setting each key individually to a code to send. Is there any such ability with FiOS?)
Let me try asking it another way.
A remote functions by sending a code to a device.
For my sound bar, I know that a code 00169 is what will make the volume go up.
00168 will make the volume go down.
00037 will toggle the mute.
00165 will turn the power on and off.
On a Comcast remote, I would set AUX to a device code. Probably doesn't matter what code I use, but I use 11144 and set that as my device.
Then I individually set each of the keys above (and a few more) so that the volume up button sends the code for volume up, the volume down button sends the code for volume down, and so forth.
Now, the question is... is there a way to do this with any of the Verizon remotes? If so, which ones, and how?
anyone? Bueller?
Um, I think he's out sick.
The reason that no one is answering you is that there is no definitive answer. As far as I can tell, the older 4-device remotes were programmed before soundbars were popular (perhaps before they even existed). I don't think they've been updated since. The newer 2-device remotes aren't programmed for anything but TV's. They both have ways of searching for codes that might work. And a key fix that might help as well. But chances are that unless you are willing to connect your soundbar through analog connections and allow your STB to control your volume, you will probably have to purchase a third-party universal remote control that can be programmed to work with everything, or try the various apps that can be added to smartphones.
If you want help trying to accomplish the suggestions above, just ask. Otherwise below is a link to the Verizon remote controls page:

On the other hand, the grey Comcast remotes have been around even longer than those, and I can get them to work.
What did you mean by a "key fix that might help as well"?
I too am having this issue. CAn't believe there's no answer on the net yet. I had the two device remote and just picked up the 4 device remote and DVD, TV programmed fine, but no go for the Vizio SB200. 😞
