Can't cast Fios TV app to my TV (Bravia X90K)

I can open a channel on my Fios TV app. In the upper left of the video in the '...' menu, there's an icon to cast. I hit that button and select my TV, at which point my TV appears to try to open a Fios TV app, but then immediately returns to the home screen (this behavior looks like the TV app is crashing). Anyone experienced this or have a solution? Is this intentional behavior?

If I try to cast my screen using the google home app and open the fios TV app, I get audio, but no video. Strangely, if I tap the screen, the player controls (play, <<, and >>) appear, but the video remains black. This is beginning to look intentional...

Try casting a different channel. Some providers will not allow casting out of the app.
