I am unable to get my TCL TV to shut off using any of the Fios remote pairing options 688 and 180 code for TCL do not work. The automatic option does not shut off the TV after 5 minutes of waiting.  This is a problem that started after I had disconnected the tv as the remote previously worked.

Try this method for reprogramming instead of codes:

How to program your remote control

Please read all instructions before starting.

  1. Press the OK and FiOS TV buttons at the same time. Release both buttons and the red light on the remote will blink twice and stay on.
  2. Next, press and release the Play/Pause button once every second until the remote finds the right code and your TV shuts off. When the TV shuts off, stop pressing the Play/Pause button.
  3. Press the TV Power button on the remote to turn the TV on. If the TV turns on, press OK to save.

TV won't turn on?
Press the Channel Down button once every second until it turns on. Then press OK to save.

This doesn't work either. Had already tried when I wrote original message. Please post this as Fios doesn't have the solution.

OK, have you tried resetting the TV yet? Unplug power for a few minutes and plug it back in and see if the issue is still happening. You could also toggle this and see if it helps:

Main Menu > Settings > Audio & Video > Video Settings > TV Input Control
