Fios tv

When I power off the system via remote, the tv (samsung) does not power off. Just shows Fios sleep screen. How do I setup so that the tv actually turns off? - Thanks

Assuming you have the Fios Voice Remote and 4100 series boxes you need to setup  the remote for your TV. Go here and go to manual Setup and follow the directions:

Main Menu > Settings > Voice Control > Fios TV Voice Remote > Program Fios TV Voice Remote.

If that doesn't work, try Reset Remote Setup and try the manual setup again.

Thanks for the info. I tried both auto and manual setup, also tried manual reset. nothing seems to work. The remote allows me to go to live tv.  Voice commands don't work either. During manual setup, blue light flashes for about 15-20 seconds. Once it stops flashing, it blinks red one time. Batteries replaced and STB powered off/on. It appears remote is bad. Tried on another mini STB with the same result. Now using an older non-voice remote and it works fine. It's just not worth $25 to me to have voice control. Thanks again.

If the remote is defective Verizon will replace it for free. Go here and request a replacement:

Main Menu > Customer Support > Top Support Tools > Replace Fios Remote
