mdr227 - As for FCS+, from what I understand it's a rebroadcast of Setanta programming so I think it'll take Setanta going over to HD and given Setanta's financial woes who knows when that will happen.

I agree with you Ben. FSC-HD should have been added already. I bug the Fios contact on Twitter regularly but he doesn't give up any info at all. It's so frustrating!
I don't buy the argument that soccer isn't popular in the US (someone posted this on the other thread). That's **bleep**. There is a ton of interest for this channel. I'm sure Fox charges alot, blah, blah, blah.. However, Fios service isn't cheap either. I love Fios but people are getting extremely frustrated and I'm sure many have given up and moved to Dish.

all soccer lovers, you can ask as much as you want, Verizon as any big company does not care about the needs of their customers, if they add the requested channels to their line-up depends, if it is profitable for Verizon (better said , for the pockets of the top layer of the company).
The best thing is to switch to provider, that responds. Even Time Warner Cable (NY) is adding the channel on April 5th so if you can switch to the competition, that's the best response to those who provide service , that serve them in the first place.

You'll be happy to know then, that Verizon will be taking away the fishing channel, along with a few others, from those of us with Extreme HD 2009. I'll still be able to watch Wealth TV though.

Not many find their way into these forums (I know I had a hard time myself) and some just don't bother after a little trying.
Some also aren't just the complaining type. And some don't speak English all that well to do complaining in forums. Some do their complaining/requesting via phone (some of whom probably get tired of waiting for operators as FIOS is known for long lines on their customer service phones) etc etc.
If they don't get what they want/like they will simply switch service provider quietly (either as soon as possible or once their contract run out) as it happens regularly with most companies. You can be sure of that.
By the way, Fios had the chance to steal two of my friends from Time Warner. As I've said once before in this forum they were waiting to see which service provider will offer FSC in HD. With Time Warner already getting this channel few days ago, sad to say they are not switching anymore. The few dollars they'll save they said won't be worth all the trouble. That cost me $100 bucks in referral money as well. 😞
Count me in! Hopefully the upcoming World Cup will bring attention to the overall popularity of soccer to Verizon and they'll pull the trigger on giving us this channel in HD.

I personally know of at least 4 people who dropped Time-Warner and switched to Verizon, because TW dropped HDNet Movies, so it balances out, I guess. At least Verizon has not eliminated channels that people want which have been available in their line-up already. That's more than one can say about TWC.

As usual Verizon don't give a flying {word filter avoidance} about consumers. Wait till next season, and I suspect they'll drop Fox from the Sports package completely and make it a stand alone $20 /month subscription channel. Verizon's attitude to customer service is that they are doing YOU a favor by allowing you to watch TV. God forbid they give consumers what they want, preferring instead to shove ***** like the Wealth Channel and the Home Shopping Network in HD down our throats ....

Think anyone from Verizon will ever actually man up and give us a date? {word filter avoidance} no - I'm amending my earlier thought - Verizon will unbundle FSC from the Sports package, and add it to the old Setanta package and then double the price to make it a $30 /month package. At which point they MIGHT do you a favor and actually make it HD ... but I wouldn't hold your breath. You're more likely to see additional worthless HD channels added to the base package so that they can advertise "more HD channels than anyone else" ...

just wanted to say I'm also disappointed that FSC HD is not available on FIOS TV. I just came from Dish Network where it was available. Footie season (in Europe) is over for now. Hopefully we'll see FSC HD added come August in time for the 2010-2011 seasons. C'mon Big Red... you've got a log of folks on here asking for this channel.
I really am wondering why Soccer cannot be in HD. Does Verizon not realize that the world cup is coming?
It is now May 16th. I am wondering whether I still have enough time to move to Cable before the kickoff.
Obviously it would be better if we get a guarantee that Soccer will be in HD by early June. Even if it is only during the weeks of the world cup.
World Cup matches in English will be on ESPN\ABC so we are ok. It would be nice to have FSC-HD light up prior to August when the English and Italian leagues start their new seasons.
I just read that Cox will be adding FSC-HD on 6/2. I haven't verified it though.
Effective June 2, 2010, Cox will be adding the Fox Soccer HD Channel on position 783, without any programming deletions or position reassignments associated with this programming.
Time Warner Cable in NYC announced they will be carrying Fox Soccer Channel HD AND GOL TV HD among a slew of other additional HD programming on July 29. They already carry Fox Soccer Plus in HD and they don't charge $14.99/month for it as it's part of their monthly $3.95 sports tier.
If FiOS doesn't pick it up soon I may be switching back to Time Warner. I prefer more HD programming, not more"widgets" or being able to use my smart phone as a remote.
I hope Fios adds FSC-HD soon (as part of their regular Extreme HD pkg) as I don't want to switch to Cox. However, if my hand is forced..
Fios talks a good game but in the end they don't have offer all of the HD channels and when they do added them they just show and never tells us about free movie promotions. Great marketing.

I find it depressing to switch over to FSC for their Would Cup post-game analysis with Richard, Andy, Warren, and only to see it in SD when FSC is presenting it in HD. I really hope we see FSC-HD added later this month when the 4 west coast movie channel feeds are dropped. Otherwise I'll have to consider dumping FIOS TV for Dish Network come August so I can watch my Red Devils and the EPL in HD.

I really have no complaints with FIOS other than this, but this is a huge one for me.
I just switched from Time Warner to Fios and I am happy with FIOS but I can't live without my soccer and if Time Warner got FSC in HD and GOLtv in HD then I guess I will be switching back.
FSC and GOL are the only channels I watch on Weekends so I dont see why I shouldnt go back and they will probably give me a deal for going back anyway.
Where did you get the info about Time Warner getting FSC HD and Gol TV HD on July 29? I talked to Time Warner several times, they could not confirm that, but I already cancelled Verizon anyway as they probably woun't add soccer channel in HD anyway and the regular one is unwatchable, much worse quality than Time Warner which I had before.
I think it depends where you are in the Time Warner Cable system as not all areas roll out the same programming as FiOS seems to do system wide. For instance Time Warner in New York City may offer different programming to its subscribers than in Raleigh, NC. From my understanding the general managers in each of the locations have the final say on what is offered.
I know here in NYC, TWC will be adding FSC HD and GOL TV HD. It was supposed to be on July 29 but has now been delayed to September 1 per the below.

Not to mention as I posted previously TWC offers Fox Soccer Plus in HD as well and is included in their $3.95/month sports tier not as a stand alone channel at $14.99/month like FiOS. FiOS seems to be more concerned with rolling out widgets and phone apps, etc. I prefer more HD content myself and will seriously be considering changing back to TWC in the Fall.
I was originally really pumped about FIOS when it was first announced before even their initial deployments in TX, and when it finally came around I thought all my TV needs had been fulfilled. But with the lack of FSC HD, I am strongly considering a switch away with the EPL season on the horizon.
Anyway, I've posted a couple inquiries to the FiOSTV twitter feed requesting more information on FSC HD and all I get are vague replies of agreement to my initial thoughts on wanting FSC HD. At least tell me you're working on it.

Don't really expect from Verizon to add Fox Soccer HD that early and if they do it will be priced, not inlcuded in the package for sure, especially when they charge $14.99 a month for unwatchable fox soccer plus( former Setanta) also regular fox soccer channel in unwatchable on Fios.
For New Yorkes finally good news, Time Warner is adding Fox Soccer HD, Gol TV HD among other channels on September 1st. To see it officially, go to twcnyc.com and on the right side click on "upcoming channel changes"
Their Fox Soccer HD togetehr with Gol TV HD will be probably in the "Sport Tier" package, which carries already Fox Soccer Plus HD. The package is only $3.95 a month, which is acceptable, that's why I 've cancelled Verizon already as they behave the same way Time Warner did during monopoly in Manhattan.
I seriously cannot believe the start of the new season is just weeks away and Verizon didn't manage to get FSC HD on their lineup. This is beyond dissapointing... Its time to look for competing providers, I refuse to watch another season on SD when people who are paying less are able to enjoy FSC AND FSC PLUS on HD...
Let's just hope we get FSC-HD before Aug.14. Maybe sooner so we can watch the Community Shield and other pre-season action too. FSC+HD would be a nice surprise and I would prolly spend the $14.99 for it, but I'd be shocked if we get both.
Being reported that Direct TV should have FSC HD by 8/11 and GOL TV HD by 8/4. Also that they are hoping to have FS+ in HD as well.

They are underestimating the amount of people who love the EPL and other soccer leagues here in the US. It's an outrage how their twitter guy prefers to discuss widgets, and tablets instead of addressing this issue.

My contract runs out at the end of the month, when the European soccer seasons really gets going. If FIOS doesn't have at least FSC HD and preferably both FSC HD and GolTV HD, I'll be switching to Direct TV as well. I'll keep the internet, but seeing as the majority of stuff I watch is sports, and half of that is Soccer, it's definitely worth switching for me. Not to mention the access to Sunday Ticket.
Well, it's been about 2 days with Gol TV HD on Direct TV, and I have to admit the picture is almost flawless. Can't wait for the Liga to start!!! Bring on FSC HD!!!!!!

What a joke. The season starts next week and no soccer in HD. My contract is until December. Come December, if these channels are not in HD, I will begin looking elsewhere. I really don't want to go to a satellite provider--we have a lot of rain and I have heard bad things about rain and satellite--but might not have a choice. A friend of mine says he has DirecTV but does not have FSC or Gol TV in HD, but he might be mistaken or not have the right package. The point is, Verizon should at least offer it, even it has to be on their most expensive HD package. If they are out of bandwidth, do we really need Weather Channel in HD? The weather will look the same in SD. There are other **bleep** channels I would suggest but I don't want to anger anyone who might watch them--I figure everyone can agree that Weather Channel in HD is excessive when there is no FSC in HD
DirecTV does have GolTV in both SD and HD. It has promised FSC-HD but, AFAIK, haven't added it yet.
Gol TV HD is on... and the picture quality is stunning. It's hard to see a game on FSC after viewing an HD match. FSC HD is being added in the next 72 hours, just in time for Sat.!!!!! Arsenal vs. Liverpool on sun. morning is gonna be heaven. Let's go Gunners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm currently out of contract with Verizon and, although I've been satisfied with the service, I would switch services if the competitor in my area offered FSC in HD. The only thing keeping me with Verizon at this point is the inaction of Cablevision. Only five days until the Premier League season kicks off and not a word about adding the channel.
Well its official that Direct TV now has FSC HD and still now ord from Verizon, such a shame I now need to seriously consider switching, I am so frustrated but Fios's lack of communication over this channel.

This past weekend, we enjoyed a wonderful picture (and game) on ESPN2 between ManCity and Spurs- after that it was all downhill. The quality of the picture on FSC and FSCPlus is TERRIBLE- I'm not spoiled, but come on now.
Question-- Who can confirm that any providers have these three channels in HD right now? (FSC HD, FSCplus HD, GolTV HD) if you can confirm, then i'm switching.

Thats the issue, I don't think that anyone has FSCHD, GolTVHD or FSC+HD cause if they did Idbe right there with you man switching away.
I think Direct TV has GOLTV HD - FSCHD and ESPN2 HD that is probably the best bet for the most HD Football.
Dish told me they Have FSC HD thats it.
Time Warner Cable (NYC) has FSPlus HD (ch.470) FSC HD(ch.485) Gol TV HD is in a channel line-up already ( ch.469), when you tune to the channel it displays the message " channel not available yet, will be coming soon, try again later" , that makes sense as the channel is supposed to be launched on Sept. 1 together with FSC HD, but for some reason FSC HD is broadcasting already. FSPlus HD and Gol TV HD witll be probably in " Sport Tier" package ($3.99) as these channels are there in SD also, but I can't say for sure, cause I am a new customer and have all these channels for free now, but I can tell the difference in picture. The only downfall is " Fox Soccer Report" is not really in HD, even if logo is there, it's only displayed in 4:3 format, kind of disappointment.
god. I can find streams on the internet that look better then fsc -sd. There is so much flickering on the screen. All the lines on the pitch have jagged edges. I think they're just squishing the hd feed. COME ON FIOS add FSC HD!!!!!!

Yeah, this is crazy. Fios is supposed to be the most technologically sofisticated provider out there.
It seems like channel 584 (which is available) is being held for FSC though so who knows.
Speed SD is 83 and Speed HD is 583 so it would make sense that FSC SD would be 84 and FSC HD would be 584.
We'll see I guess. As much as I love soccer, it is simply it is simply unwatchable on the SD channels.

Can we get a definitive date on when Verizon will offer Fox Soccer Channel in HD? A straight-forward answer will do just fine (i.e. Is verizon pursuing adding FSC in HD to their lineup, or not).
Also I would encourage everyone who desires to see EPL, Serie A, and UCL games in high definition to please add a comment below. Verizon needs to know how much interest there is in something like this. Include in your response whether or not you would be willing to pay extra for FSC in HD.
I, for one, would absolutely be willing to pay more. It's the only channel I really care about. Verizon carries channels for tennis and golf in HD, and I think it would be safe to say that neither of those sports have nearly as much room for growth as soccer does in the US market. They also don't have the same level of programming (i.e. major golf and soccer tournaments are shown on major networks. Major soccer games and tournaments are shown on FSC!).

We don't have it in my area, but oddly enough we have 2 fox soccer channels. I am in the Virginia Beach area and channels 84 and 1522 are both listed as FSC and present identical programming. I'm wondering if perhaps the 1522 channel is intended to ultimately be used for FSC in HD?
I am very satisfied w/ FIOS, and I am confident that they will resolve this issue. I just would like to know if they are close to getting it done. I would give up every HD channel I have for FSC in HD. I'm not so ignorant to think that the majority of people feel the same, but I would be willing to bet that there wouldn't be 22 pages of comments about a lack of the Tennis Channel in HD.
No one on the FiOS platform has FSC in HD as of yet. As of today their "Twitter" guy said he had no information on it (it is the most requested and contentious channel discussed there) so I am not sure what you are referring to CapnCrunch. The most information that the super secret group in the FiOS bunker are willing to divulge is they were trying to get it added sometime in 2010. If it does ultimately get added it will be channel 584.
Channel 1522 is part of the "La Conexion" spanish plan which includes the channels in the 1500's - 1700's. A lot of the channels in this plan mirror the english language channels and are broadcast in english (like TNT on channel 1501 is the same as channel 51) so this looks like a real waste of channel space, but I guess their goal is to make things easier for those that subscribe to this by keeping channels grouped together. But anyway, channel 1522 is just like channel 84, Fox Soccer Channel in SD.

Btw I'm not british, I just wanted to sound like one haha but seriously we want Fox Soccer Channel HD over here in Tampa where the are many many soccer fans and a lot of new post-world-cup soccer fans where I work who really demand FSC HD after watching the entire World Cup in HD. Verizon should capitalize on the momentum gained in June and July. I mean, didn't they check the world cup ratings? They were 60% up from 2006 and almost 17 million people watched the USA vs Ghana game which means a lot of people watched soccer, and that means many business opportunities for Verizon.

Im sure that the paying customers do not want FSC in HD so that they can watch the MLS, I don't, EPL, Bundesliga,Serie A, La Liga & Ligue Un are all better than the mls people want to see international talent and quite franky unles the MLS import 100 more Thierry Henrys then its going to have less appeal.
The drop of from the World Cup is significant yes, but honestly that is to be expected, Im sure there are major drop offs after other major events, i.e Olympics, X games .

Soccer fans, as much effort is put in requesting FSC HD, we should include GolTV HD. Both channels are crucial. I don't understand why someone would request only one of these channels instead of both?!?! Also, I hope ESPN deportes becomes HD soon. I'm throwing my hat into the ring. Verizon needs to get this rolled out. I'm definitely considering the move to DirecTV. FSC HD!

FSCHD, FSC+HD, and GOLTV HD are all available on Time Warner Cable North Texas (DFW). FSC+HD is part of the 6.99 Sports/HD pack. Time to consider breaking my FIOS contract or see if I can keep FIOS Internet and dump FIOS TV.

talked to the fiostv twitter and he said they need to upgrade their lasers b4 they add more hd. So this thread is basically pointless, they dont care about us they just dump every post people make into this thread so it doesnt look as bad. I bet they are **bleep**ting their pants now while every other provider is passing them up. Who know's though maybe in a couple years when they have upgraded all their lasers they'll cut the prices to try and recoup all the subscribers they lost 🙂 If your contract ends soon, id get out.
Verizon is one of the most expensive providers and they don't even have 1 Soccer channel in HD !?!?! what is this 12 century !?
FSC and GolTV are the only SD channels I watch ... and the quality of the FSC SD is terrible even for a SD channel!?
Soccer is very popular, and most people record their favorite matches, because they are shown very early ... so this is another plus for Verizon, because many soccer fans get a DVR, which is not necessary with the On demand feature ...
Verizon is going to lose many clients over this, and I sure regret not getting TWC ... I am not even suggesting friends getting Fios ...
So get FSC HD and GolTV HD very soon or lose another customer.
i wanted to say that I was incorrect in my post earlier/above. The TWC HD/Sports pack here in DFW is not $6 but $12. It includes several channels in HD/SD. Still beats paying $15 for FS+SD a la carte. I did call VZ today and was told I am not under contract. Not sure about that but she was going to let me drop TV and keep internet with no penalties, I would just loose my bundle discount. The one thing keeping me with VZ is the internet. I love my 35/35 speeds. TWC here is DOCSIS 3.0 but max upload is 5Mbps. If they were closer to FIOS, I'd bail. I'm going to remain patient and polite with VZ hoping that we see footie in HD soon!
the only hope that I see is that they haven't filled channel 584, which would be the HD channel for FSC most likely, based on how they number their channels
Verizon needs to know that the availability of FSC on HD is very important to soccer fans customers. Some of us are prepared to ditch Verizon for dish network who currently carries FSC in HD.

Well in a way, your quite correct. You do realize that this is a peer-to-peer forum and there is no "official" Verizon presence dont you? While there are a few Verizon employee's that visit and try to help, Verizon doesn't monitor these boards. All the requests here are just to make you happy and make you think you are accomplishing something. But in reality, anything posted here does not get to Verizons attention. Now its not completely pointless, it does get to some employee's attention and it does give the empoyee's a place they can point to when they make recommendations or requests to their supervisors. But the only Verizon people that this board reaches, are not the ones that make the decisions. The people that make the descisions, do not visit or monitor these boards.
i hear your pain! It ***** for a such a big company and charging so much for Extreme HD and we can't get FoxSoccer HD. We get all other sports other than soccer. What's up with that.
