NETFLIX included with your verizon subscription

When I called to renew my verizon subscription, I asked about Netflix included for free, she kept saying yes, to be clear, it is thru your set top box OK, that means not thru the roku, laptop, phone, etc. so I canceled Netflix. BUT when i pick Netflix icon under Menu, on demand, it is asking me to renew Netflix, or to sign up for a 30 day free membership. How do I get the Netflix promised for Free???
