Hi all,
I occasionally run into this strange issue. It often happens on Philadelphia Flyers games, and I have now seen it on multiple channels.
Just now, I tuned into a game on TNT at 8:07pm which had started at 7:30pm, When I switched to the channel, it started playing the broadcast from the beginning. I realized that it was doing that when I saw they had a "countdown to puck drop" in the corner of the screen. The only way for me to get to real-time is to fast-forward. The skip forward would not move it forward. If I change channels and then go back, it starts from the beginning again. I also tried pressing the down arrow and then selecting "Jump to Live TV", but that would just start the broadcast over from the beginning.
I have had this happen a few times in the past to Flyers games on NBC Sports Philadelphia. This is the first time I've seen it on a different channel.
I would love to know what I should do when this happens, or if there is something that I can do to prevent it.
Thanks!

Not that it should matter with this problem, but for the future you have the older 1100 series boxes, which were phased out by the 4100 boxes and now the new stream boxes. Try removing power to the entire system, router included for 3 minutes, then plug back in, starting with the router, wait till it stabilizes, then the main Fios box, then the satellite boxes.
You could also try this;
Main Menu > Customer Support > Top Support Tools > Fix FiOS TV Issues
And this, but be aware it could erase any DVR programs and any customization you have:
Main Menu > Settings > System>Reset Settings

Was the DVR setup to record the game? Were you given the option to start from the beginning?

No, it was not set to record, and I did not get prompted to start from the beginning. I usually only see that prompt on the paid movie channels.

Was this with the 4100 series Fios box or the new stream boxes?

They are older boxes. When I look in System Info, it shows Platform ID: VMS1100. I am guessing that is the model number.
