Preferred HD channel lineup

My wife and I are not happy with Verizon Fios right now! We just learned that Logo is not in our channel line up anymore even though it is still listed on the online channel line up for the Preferred HS. We called customer service and to ask why when we changed the channel to Logo it was saying that we currently did not subscribe to this channel. Apparently there was a change made back on April 6! Almost 1 week ago. We have received no messages on our set top box or email notifications about this change. Everyone knew about the Weatherchannel change. What is going on Verizon? Part of the reason we left Scamcast was because of the constant changes, now Verizon is doing the same... What other channel line up changes are planned to take place. Also we just upgraded our plan from Select HD to Preferred HD and this is the thanks we get! Now we pay for less channels but oh we get the movie channels, big woop!

I just joined to post the same thing. Logo was one of the reasons I upped my plan, and I don't appreciate it disappearing with no notification. Why was this channel dropped and why was there no notification?

I found this in my February bill:

On or after April 6, 2015:
Channel 187, Logo, and channel 1660, MTV tr3s, will be removed
from the FiOS TV Preferred HD package.
•
Channels 1665 (SD) and 721 (HD), CMT, and channels 1707 (SD)
and 741 (HD), TV Land, will be removed from the FiOS TV Mundo
and FiOS TV Mundo Total packages.
•

Channel and rate changes are usually found on your bill (most of us don't bother to read them anymore).

Same issue here. Spent an hour on the phone because the display, and the 1st rep I spoke with, said that I was subscribed to it. Super frustrating.

Just found out this channel was pulled. Completely ridiculous. No sort of discount being offered from LOSING a channel but boy are they ready to take your money on upgrading your package. Logo was the only reason we got the preferred package to begin with, not cool Verizon.

It actually was a surprise when they added Logo to the preferred package. Undoubtably because of negotiations requiring it by the owners of Logo. Not surprised to hear it has now been removed. And of course the Verizon agreement clearly says they can make changes in the lineup whenever they want.

This is so frustrating!! I upgraded about a week and a half ago to Preferred specifically for Logo. NOT ONE PERSON told me that it was going to be taken away from the Preferred lineup. So annoyed right now!!

I tried to tune to LOGO TV, channel 187 (included in my PREFERRED HD package) and it is currently showing that I am not subscribed... After calling the FiOS troubleshooting line and spoke to a representative, it turns out that this network is currently out of any FiOS lineup as a result of some contract issues.

Verizon FiOS should send out a communication to its customers so that we don't go around in circles trying to find out why channel 187, LOGO TV, is unavailable even though the channel is indeed part of its package. Verizon FiOS did a good proactive communication when THE WEATHER CHANNEL was about to exit the FiOS lineup; we had some notice.

Verizon FiOS, please send out a communication as soon as possible advising your customers of the issue so we are not wasting our time calling the repair dept, performing all these diagnostics to later find out that the channel is no longer available at this time in any FiOS TV package lineup.

Couple of comments:

2) As stated in that thread, it was in the February bill (at least mine) that Logo was going to be removed from the Preferred plan. That is where Verizon communicates channel changes.

Not happy at all that the logo channel is gone this is crap I specifically made sure it was part of my package and now 4 months later its gone and I get a bull story from a rep

I am also very frustrated that Logo is gone, and that Verizon can just change what channels exist in our packages without any warning. I guess a contract means nothing to them, though we have to pay hundreds of dollars if we want out. What was the story you got from the representative?

Totally agree, it's so frustrating that they can just change our channels at will. After feeling forced into an uprade, losing the weather channel, and now this I don't think I'll renew our contract in the future. What a monopoly.

Verizon will usually notify people of any upcoming channel changes. It is in the last section of the bill. Unfortunately most of dont take the time to read the bill or term of service.

tv channel lineup changes are in a phonebill notice? i got notified of weatherchannel fiasco in email march 10....are phone feature notifications in the messages section of fiostv menu????

With FIOS, you get one bill for TV, Phone and Internet.

TV channel changes are listed there.

Yes, TWC change was sent via email as it was an instaneous change, not a planned one.

Not happy either that I have a two year contract, ut Verizon can change their channel lineup as they like. I know that I agreed to these terms, but it sucks for the consumer when Verizon removes a popular channel to a higher TV package just ot make a buck. I am not paying an additional $25 (to move to the Extreme TV package) just to get LOGO back.

This was also in the messages under menu in the set top box but if you don't bother to check there at least once a month or so you can miss the message because they eventually expire and are removed.

Pretty much all f the cable companies have this option.

You enter into a contract for a set price (with ETF to leave early).

They can add or delete channels as they feel fit.

I upgraded to preferred hd in february 2015. it had the logo channel which i like some of the comedies (will & grace) and i watch often. well this past weekend i tunr to 187 logo and i am no longer subscribed to it. call the 800-837-4966 number and 2.5 hours later i was transferred twice, maria in c/s had me on hold reading the notes for 33 minutes. George in tech support wanted to do a reset of box called me back that c/s had questions before they could do it transferred me to billing and that was another hour down the drain.

they removed logo tv from my package never informed. me. i will go thru all the other channels now to see whats missing. they owe me a credit so far for the weather channel and now logo and i will get it.. they dont know me

oh and sales cant tell anyone anything about channels they dont know Dimitry online told me that as well as others in sales on the phone. so they dont know what channels they are selling???

I'm beyond furious w/Verizon and their treatment of me as a customer. My time is not valuable to Verizon. I spent 1 hour 27 minutes on the phone with Verizon over losing LOGO on my lineup. I waited 45 minutes before this tonight for a return call from Verizon that didnt happen. This actually started when I called Verizon on Friday when I discovered that I no longer had LOGO as part of my lineup. I spent 60 min on the phone between someone on the technical side and someone on the cutomer service side (ageny provided a name of {edited for privacy}). I explained that my service began a few months ago and that my current plan was based on me identiying LOGO as a station that I watch the most. I was offered a monthly discount of $15 to just deal w/the loss. That's not what I want. I explained that I dont watch much TV and that my favorite show was on LOGO. I was told that marketing would be starting a new event on Monday that may meet my needs. I was told that I would be getting a call tonight (Monday) at 6PM. I waited until approximately 6:45PM and there was no call. I called Verizon and spoke to a new agent. He was eager to assist. Needless to say, he wasn't able to rectify the situation. I asked to speak to a supervisor. He couldn't get a supervisor. I wouldn't allow the call to end. I asked why my time wasnt valuable to Verizon. I could not get an answer. He was able to message a supervisor but not get a supervisor to call me. He ended up offering to upgrade my package with Verizon giving me a promo to cover some of the costs but not the total costs. I would have to agree to a sports package that I would never watch and pay additonal taxes on this package. I still wasnt able to get a superivsor to speak to me. I was told that everyone is working over time and that it's reasonable to wait another 24-48 hours. I explained that I was already promised a call tonight that was never returned. I was told that this would not happen again. I explained that I had really wanted this to be over tonight as I put enough time into coming up with a solution. There was nothing I could do as a supervisor would not become available to speak to me. We ended the call.

I then went online and chatted with an agent. I was told that Verizon can do what they want with regards to terms of agreement. It doesnt matter what I was told when I signed up.

I end this day frustrated. I can't help but to think that when I signed up for the FIOS service, Verizon didnt ask me what channels I watch most to take them away. What sense does that make?

I had the same issue and it is complete theft. Paying for channels that are not being provided. We should receive a refund for partial services provided. This is complete **bleep**. Verizon you are really making a bad name for yourself. Should have stayed with Comcast at this point.

FYI:

Pulled this from Comcast forum site.

We regularly examine our programs and channels in an effort to bring our customers the best overall entertainment choices and the content they want the most. As a result, Comcast must sometimes remove channels that have lower viewership to make space for higher valued, more popular channels and to keep our channel line-ups consistent across markets.

So the same could happen to you over there.

Logo is the only reason we get this package so we would like to see it back. As for the comment about "searching threads" to find changes - this is not something customers should have to do. We should have received proactive communication similar to the one for The Weater Channel.

For Logo there was proactive communitcations. It was in the Februrary bill.

Bill notifications are normal for channel changes.

We in the PREFERRED HD category also lost USA HD even though we have access to the regular USA Network!!!
Also, the Verizon log in credential to USA Networks app and webpages no longer works with Preferred HD customers.

Where do you live? I haven't heard of Fios dropping USA HD from the preferred package anywhere. Are you sure you aren't just having an issue? I had a friend in NJ who had issues with USA HD for about 2 weeks, but it came back.

I got no proactive communicaiton about this change on my bill. Then I got the run around on the phone because customer service did not know about this change. They even dispatched a repair person to my house to try and fix the problem. How is that efficient?
