Problems with Splitter and Channels

We used to have Dish Network service installed, but we made a switch to FiOS TV and have absolutely loved it so far. However, we were sent boxes and instructions to remove some components of our old Dish system, and proceeded to do so.

Today, we took off this LNB thing off our satellite. That was one of the things that needed to be removed and sent back. So we did that. It also included something about a switch box on the wall below the satellite. Unknowingly, we had accidentally taken out a splitter for the cables that ran through the house. We didn't get any TV obviously. So, we went and put it back in, and all the wires back where they were (for the most part). Now, we're only getting about 10 or 20 HD channels in our guide, and we aren't getting any SD channels whatsoever, I've tried resetting the router, STBS, etc. and it's not working. Any suggestions?

That box was either a multiswitch or a diplexer of some kind. From your description, I bet it was a 3X4 or 5X8 multiswitch.

It sounds like some of your channels are being filtered or diplexed.

If I were you, I would bite the bullet and have VZ redispatch a new tech, based on only getting 10 or 20 channels. When the tech gets there I would fall on the sword and explain to the tech what really happened. He will be able to fix it.

IF you don't want to go that route, you can try to fix this yourself. Basically, remove ALL splitters, diplexers, etc. Run a single coax to a STB and check for all aspects. If this works at the initial drop, try one at a time to go to the other sites.

One more thing: its possible the remote sides have diplexers on them either in the walls or by the TV's. Can you check them and report back?
