I just signed up for Fios and took a chance on the YouTube option. It promises 100+ channels including all the major networks and all my local channels. It also promises a dvr. But when I go to YouTube on my tv, it is pushing a bunch of random particular movies and shows, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to look at a channel/network, if that makes any sense. Like, if I wanted to see what is on PBS right now, where would I go? Or if I wanted to tape the Lions game tomorrow on NBC, how would I browse that channel? I consider myself reasonably tech comfortable, but right now I am feeling a thousand years old and bested by my own tv!

You may be trying to use the Youtube App, not the Youtube TV App. The YouTube TV app is different from the YouTube app. Be sure you’re searching for YouTube TV in the app store on your TV device. Also go here for more info on using the Youtube TV app:
