Just got FIOS a couple days ago, i turned to weather channel and noticed that on the local on the 8's there is no local forecast for my area

We've never gotten a "local" forecast here in Bergen County NJ anyway-- they give the weather for Newark, quite a distance away. Their excuse in the past is that it's "too complicated" to get more localized. (Then why can Cablevision do it?)
The best bet is to get the widget for Weatherbug, which will give you the Temp and the Forecast for your exact location by zip code.
