I recently had Fios installed in my home this past Tuesday, with the installation of the Fios box on the exterior of my sunroom. The following day, Wednesday, my contractors arrived to continue painting the rest of the house. Upon opening the door to the sunroom, they immediately detected a strong odor of natural gas. Concerned for safety, I promptly contacted the gas company to investigate for potential leaks and ultimately had to shut off the gas line to the entire house.
Upon inspection, the gas company technician determined that the source of the leak was attributed to the drilling during the installation of the Fios box, which punctured a gas pipe. Subsequently, I received a quote from my contractors estimating the repair costs to be upwards of $3000.
Given the circumstances, I seek guidance on how to address this issue and ensure its timely resolution.
