Your choice to refund balances via gift cards is an obvious {word filter avoidance} (Your comment function won't even let me use the word because it is a "bad word." Its far better than this "business practice.")
I moved, and my new apartment didn't offer Fios. My account had a positive balance. I was sent a gift card administered by "Northlane" -- at least the website is. I obviously would have preferred a check. I understand the game you're playing -- the cards are hard to use, people forget about them, they expire, and then balances transfer back to the card company, you probably take a piece. It's bad customer service and, moreover, should be illegal.
The gift card instructions clearly state that I can transfer the balance to my bank account. I have registered the card (which was much harder than any other registration or account set up I have ever used). I then tried many many times to use the "transfer balance" function, but I always receive an error message -- either the function is not available or I am logged out immediately. There is no way to speak to a customer service representative at the telephone number listed.
Please let me know how I can get my money in my bank account.
