On May 10, 2024 Verizon tech came to my home to repair my services (Paying for 1Gbps speed/ getting less than 100Mbps). The gentleman had to drill into the exterior wall to replace a box and make the necessary repairs.
On completion, we checked to make sure the speed was what it should be and he left around 5pm. I later went to the basement of the house to see what he did and noticed that an area on my sofa beneath the electrical box is wet.
On further inspection I noticed that the water is coming from the electrical box. At 5:15pm I sent a text to the tech to tell him to return as there is an issue. I received an automated text response from Verizon.
On opening the electrical box - In noticed that the entire interior of the box is flooded and dripping with water. I replaced the panel and called Verizon. Apparently, while drilling the hole in the exterior wall, the technician punctured the water line. I was told that a supervisor would contact me and make arrangements to come to the house to inspect the damages.
I later found out that there is no power in the upper floors of my home and the lights are flickering throughout the house. I turned off the water - including the hot water heater, before bed. Oh, did I mentioned that no one from Verizon showed up?
I called Saturday morning (May 11, 2024 @ 7am) Was told that someone would contact me within 12 hours - still no response from Verizon.
I called at 6pm (May 11, 2024) was told by customer service that if I am so concerned the I should just call a contractor, fix the problem and send Verizon the bill.
Without any information about who I should send the bill to or is there a Verizon preferred contractor - this is Verizon's solution to the problem they left me with. I ask for a number for the correct department, but was told that "it does not matter who you speak with, they are going to tell me the same thing".
So, is there anyone out there who have had a similar issue with Verizon; please let me know who you called to get Verizon to fix what they damaged.
Thanks for your assistance.
