Hello Verizon Agents, an old oak tree branch fell on wires attached to an original decommissioned Verizon POTS telephone pole and snapped the Verizon telephone pole off at ground level. The Verizon telephone pole with metal steel rods for climbing is now lay9ing in the road next to the TECO Tampa Electric right of way, across the street. The neighbors called TECO for removal and Tampa Electric green tagged the pole writing on the tag "this is not a TECO pole. This is a decommissioned Verizon telephone pole." Per the Verizon on-line website, we were to call 1-80--922-0204, yet the Customer service wanted us to verify our wireless account, having nothing to do with simply wanting a technical support POC number. The cable company checked out the orphan telephone pole and verified that no cables were attached. The pole is now laying in the road, difficult to see by any car or bicycle rider approaching in darkness. Someone needs to remove the pole, as the creosote pole makes using a chainsaw to cut it up very difficult and no one is willing to take the risk without Verizon authorization or Verizon authorized personnel removal. If there is a collision with this decommissioned Verizon telephone pole, we will advise the local Tampa Police to notify Verizon Agents in this forum. Please advise.
