Verizon Solicitors

Every week people claiming to be from Verizon knock on every door in my GATED building.  This needs to stop. They are trespassing on this property. None of them are ever wearing any identification other than maybe a jacket that says Verizon on it.  I will never ever be a Verizon customer because of this practice.

That’s completely unacceptable—especially in a gated building where solicitors shouldn’t have access in the first place. Verizon’s door-to-door sales reps are often third-party contractors, meaning they don’t always follow proper protocols.

What You Can Do to Stop This:

  1. Report the Trespassing to Building Management
    • If they’re getting past security, your building management may need to tighten access controls or issue a formal complaint to Verizon.
  2. Request to Be Added to Verizon’s "Do Not Solicit" List
    • Verizon claims to honor no-solicitation requests, but enforcement is inconsistent.
    • Contact Verizon Customer Support or reach out via Twitter Support to demand removal from their sales outreach list.
  3. File a Complaint with Local Authorities
    • If they’re trespassing, you may be able to report them to local law enforcement or your city’s consumer protection agency.
  4. Warn Others in Your Community
  • Posting on Nextdoor or local Facebook groups can help others stay alert and pressure Verizon to stop sending reps.

This aggressive sales tactic is frustrating, and Verizon needs to do better in respecting gated communities.
