$100 Verizon gift card home internet promo

So I was sent an email on 6/24 with my gift card and pin numbers . I tried to use it and it had no balance so I called back on 7/29 and was told they seen a transaction on 7/25 on wait no there was no transaction so they were gonna investigate and get back to me in 5-7 days. Well they didn't so i called again and was told to redeem it again with the promo code and date they gave me so I did and it came back invalid duplicate number. I was told to wait until 9/5 and if it still was showing invalid they would issue it manually. Now today is 9/5 so I called and oh they are sorry but all they can do is credit my account $100 to convert my bill that is coming out of my check Friday. I needed a new device because my screen is broken guess not

I was offered the gift card yesterday but the catch was I had to give them my visa credit card number for the $3.95 shipping and handling. The guy at Verizon was very pushy that I accept this card. I was calling about changing my plan at Verizon. I’ve been a customer of third for 16 years. I was suspicious b/c he wouldn’t put his manager on the phone. I was calling b/c I wanted service questions answered about my plans. He wouldn’t proceed to help me unless I accept the. $100 gift card. I told him I don’t want it. He was agitated that I didn’t want it. I was agitated that I was directed to this 1 800 phone number straight from my Verizon’s website. He actually hung up on me. I then found Verizon’s phone number from a general search on the web and finally was able to speak to someone who could help me. It’s been my experience that promotional gift cards rarely work. And if they do, the fees from transactions using them are high. Shame on Verizon for doing the hard pushy sell and employing individuals who are so inept at their job.
