Last fall, Verizon installed a fiber optic line to my house to replace my old copper telephone service. When I turned on my lawn irrigation system for the season, I noticed that a few of the irrigation zones were not working at all. Today my irrigation contractor determined that the problem was caused by the Verizon installer cutting the irrigation lines when the fiber optic line was installed. I would like to file a claim with Verizon for reimbursement of the irrigation company service call and repair costs. I can provide a digital copy of the irrigation company's invoice upon request, which clearly indicates that the location of the irrigation line damage is directly in the path of the new fiber optic line.
