Mac iOS Mail Access from Outside USA

In the last few months, i have traveled to Canada, Paris,and brazil. When connected to any wifi network, i cannot send nor receive my Apple Mail. Gmail works fine, but not my preferred service. Any clues? I used to have no issues.

Thanks. But, I can get my VZ e-mail on my Android phone on AT&T wireless (GSM) during international travel. It would seem the IP addresses from an International wireless would also trigger the lockout.
