Prewiring a new construction

Recently purchased a house and I am doing a renovation which is basically a new construction. The previous owner had FIOS.

I am planning to have an AV closet in the first floor, I would like my router and Fios TV box to be in this closet.

I don’t think the ONT will be in the closet (will probably be in the basement). My question is,

what cables should I run from the AV closet to the ONT to insure I have everything covered?

Make sure that you know that you can get the “package” that you want from VZ

When you decide that, ask them what VZ equipment they would be providing

and their recommendations as to the “cabling” that they would be running for your set up.

Also would they work with you during the renovation ?

Be aware that “hiding” the STB box in closet will require equipment near your TV that will then “talk”

To the STB in the closet.

The "distance" from your closet to your TV is goin to be important when choosing the correct Remote control extender
