Is anyone else being offered a good renewal rate, but the small print says first month only? Months 2-24 are $30.00 more for the same levels.

That's common with Verizon. They offer a one month "free upgrade" for higher speed internet. You are correct that you must look at months 2-24 to see the real cost. The web site doesn't hide this, but it doesn't make it as obvious as I'd like, either.
