Anyone else having difficulties logging in to their Verizon email? I tried to log in and the page keeps coming back saying my session has timed out - please try again. I was able to login earlier (and logged out) and am unable to at this time -
According to Tech Support, there is a mail outage. They couldn't say when it will be fixed, but hopefully it will be soon.
I cant access via the web or my blackberry
I am having the exact same issue. I tried both Internet Explorer and Mozilla. When I first loggied in through IE it showed me my email list but when I clicked to go view them it bounced me to a you have successfully logged out screen. Why are the haveing general users beta test their buggy software!!!
Yeah, it's a good thing that my business doesn't rely on Verizon FIOS for its email every day. Oh, wait ...
Out here in Staten Island NYall morning and now afternoon. Go explain Outlook email failure to cranky bosses who don't understand computers in the first place!
ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!! VERIZON WEBMAIL IS THE WORST OF THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This happens to me at least 3 times a week...SO annoyed with Verizon. Might have to switch back to Comcast. Never had these problems with Comcast.
yup same problem here in grapevine, tx...system wide and outlook 2007, webmail and now my crackberry is sending me messages that pertain to it...someone must have tried to fix something or new code roll or it could even be caused by M$...1st time i have had this issue since i got the service back in nov 2007...I guess it means i need to go out and smell the roses!!!
It's 1:20PM here on the East Coast (Scranton). Still getting Session timed out message, cannot access my email. Hey Verizon, let's get this fixed!!
Hi there,
We have the same problem in NC as well. This kind of problem is usually solved eventually (yeah, 'eventually'). Well, the ultimate solution is to stop using Verizon e-mails and switch to something else. I told my wife that I would help her to get a g-mail account this evening.
Sorry to those who rely on Verizon e-mail for their business.
Ken
I agree , thinking very seriously about going back to Comcast Customer service with Verizon is very poor
You said problem solved. What is the solution?
I've got the same problem here in NY. Interesting twist though - I have one main email account and a number of sub-accounts. My main acount works fine, my sub-accounts time out! very frustrating!
As far as I can see thier solution is that they're recognizing that there is a problem.
I have to agree with several others. VERIZON, YOU HAVE THE WORST EMAIL SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED! WHY DO YOU STILL OFFER THIS USELESS SERVICE? WHY ARE WE BEING CHARGED FOR IT? WHY DID I EVER DROP COX COMMUNICATIONS?
Same thing here in CA. unable to send/receive.
Their chat support was pretty useless too. They said it's a problem on their end without providing any details and said it will take hours (not defined how many) to fix it.
Even utility companies post announcements of outages and status on their sites. Why can't Verizon do that same? Do they like to have their call centers overloaded with unnecessary calls?
I don't get the session timed out message I get either a message that there are "no new messages" in my inbox (which is not accurate because I have sent messages from my office to test it) or a message that says they "can not perform this request". Anyone seeing these messages when you try to access your e-mail?
Same **bleep** issue here in Indiana, as well.
I haven't been able to pay my bill online all week, apparently there is a technical problem with that part of their site... and now I can't even retrieve my e-mail. At least I can still access the internet.
Verizon screwed up when they switched their system around here recently. I didn't even receive a notice that they were doing away with the Verizon/Yahoo until I went to the actual Verizon site to see why I wasn't getting any e-mail.
Yes, getting a variety of messages depending on where I have been trying to sign in. Got the "no msgs in mailbox", got the timed out msg, got the "You have successfully logged out" msg (makes me feel so warm and fuzzy, knowing I have successfully been unsuccessful) - got an inkling of something wierd yesterday with a popup virus / spyware alert that proved to be a forced link to purchase a software "patch", it was a bugger to close out of.....thought it might have come via an open Skype account
This is driving me NUTS! I, too am having problems YET AGAIN logging in to webmail. Grrrrrrr. It keeps telling me I've timed out, yet I never got in. Unacceptable!
Yes, I have been receiving those same error messages. And the "Session Timed Out" one as well. And let's not forget the redirection to the login screen.
Will someone at Verizon tell me what the problem is
Well, problem solved was probably a little premature - just stating that at least Verizon recognizes the issue and is attempting to resolve it - we hope.
I "chatted" with a tech at 12:10 PM EST and was told it would be fixed by 11 AM CST (which is 12 noon EST - so the tech was a bit {please keep your posts courteous}?). Chatted again 2 hours later and was told no estimates were known.
I've had this happen with optonline for hours at a time when the network cable was damaged somewhere. {word filter avoidance} happens. But when I check with the status page http://wapp.verizon.net/systemstatus/default.asp?template=central or http://wapp.verizon.net/systemstatus/default.asp?template=eastern it says everything is great everywhere. At least be honest.
Does Verizon have a policy about crediting the bill for such a long outage?
Likewise. First symptom was the server telling me my password was incorrect. Then went to webmail and tried to send an email and received notice - can't do it try later. Everything very slow here in NoVA. What is so bothersome is - Verizon failed to post a net warning on their pages - at least not anywhere I could find. I tried calling support and the bloody call timed out. really bush league operation. Only three options left and the least atrractive - Verizon controls the phone lines too, so I can't go back to dial-up.
Wake up Verizon - you need to get your failure reporting act together.

That's exactly my experience too, in Buffalo, NY. "Incorrect password" in my MacMail program; "We were unable to perform your request. Please try again" on my net mail pages. Worked fine early in the morning. I just got a number of emails, so maybe the fix is close. I have had to reenter a password several time for one of my accounts, so it's not totally fixed.

Well, it appears I can receive email, but not send it.
Seems to be finally fixed, as of about 60-90 minutes ago.
Every time I sign on to my emails I get a "session timed out" message and have to manually sign in even though I always check the "keep me signed in" box. I used to be able to sign in directly to my inbox. THIS ONLY ONE OF THE RECURRING PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THIS SYSTEM including no response to "delete" commands and "an error has occurred" message that will not go away until I completely restart the session. If this were not bundled with my other systems I would drop it in a heartbeat. It has gradually become a huge pain in the **bleep**.
Whenever I try to sign onto my emails I get a session timed out messge and have to sign in manually.
is anyone else having your sessions "timed out" whenever you try to view email? I'm being asked to re-enter my sign-in information every time. VERY frustrating!
I have had that same problem since Feb. They should have found a solution by now. Guess I might have to go back to Comcast.
THey are essentially making it timeout whenever you leave it now.
Finally an answer that makes sense. THANKS!!
Recent reply seems to indicate this is now done automatically. It seems unnecessary and especially galling that it took so long to find out.
