Unable to unlock verizon/yahoo email or reset password

My email account got locked while traveling abroad on Jan 1, 2018. I contacted both Yahoo and Verizon customer support but have not been able to resolve this issue. I believe that my yahoo email account is served by Verizon as attempts to unlock the account from Yahoo site always takes me to Verizon login page. Unfortunately, the Verizon site has no means to proceed with account unlock after yahoo texted security key to reset the email account.

I found several forum users had similar Verizon/yahoo email issue since 12/17/17. My first contat with Verizon Customer Service on Jan 2nd had confirmed my yahoo email was served by Verizon via remote desktop to my PC but he was not able to fix it and asked me to contact Yahoo. Unfortunately Yahoo Customer Service repeatedly instructed me to contact Verizon for my email issue. Its web page to reset password or unlock account continue to display both Verizon and Yahoo logo.

I tried contacting Verzion Customer Service again on Jan 12th but unfortunately still resolve this issue. Your help to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated as this yahoo email account was by primay email for past 20 years.

This issue was resolved by Yahoo yesterday. Some info below for benefit of others that may encountered the same issue:

1. I tried many ways to contact Yaoo and found no phone or "regular" support methods that worked.

2. Verizon offline support reviewed my account and found my @yahoo.com email was never linked as portal partner with them.

3. I found several posting at Yahoo community forum on account mistakenly redirected to ATT, AOL, or Verizon. I submitted a posting with subject "Account locked and redirected to Verizon". In my posting, I asked to unlink with Verizon. A day later, I added a tag "yahoo redirects to verizon" that got immediate feedback. I found this tag from another similar posting that was resolved. After couple quick exchanges, my account was unlocked and able to login without furhter issue.

I too am having issues with the Verizon/Yahoo loop when trying to get a password reset. I believe a company of this size should after all this time (seeing comments dated back into 2017) be able to fix this. Even an acknowledgment on the website that this is happening and being fixed might appease the masses

I am very frustrated as I'm sure that I'm missing emails that I should be responding too. If this can be resolved and I haven't contacted the correct person please let me know

Sorry to hear that you also had Verizon/Yahoo email issue. I found my yahoo email issue could only be fixed by Yahoo. See my 1/26/18 entry, list item#3, for how to contact Yahoo. Additional detail,

1. go to https://forums.yahoo.net/t5/Yahoo-Help-Community/ct-p/english

2. sign-in or create a forum acount. You will need an alternate yahoo acct to do so.

3. search for "Account locked and redirected to Verizon". You can see my Yahoo forum posting created on 1/23 with escalation to yahoo team on 1/24. Try to submit a posting seeking help with same tag and similar subject header.

Thank you for your help however no luck... We may have different issues in that my email is a Verizon.net not Yahoo.com.. I have spoken to Verizon and recieved a ticket # - althou no communication from them as yet

This is truly upsetting as I'm more than sure I am missing quite a bit of emails that need reponding to

Yes! Your issue is different and likely due to verizon.net server migration issue that I think occurred during December.

This posting was original created for issue with my yahoo.com email account that got locked and password reset took me to a verizon login web page. A recent reply by grannyof2 reported a different issue with her verizon.net email account.

From your description, it seems your problem is with your yahoo.com email account. If so, you can first confirm that your account is not served by Verizon mail server before contacting Yahoo.

Yahoo does not have any email or phone contact for email support. I found Yahoo forum worked well to finally resolve my problem after many hours of communications with Verizon and Yahoo over 3 weeks. See my info in the posting for how I reported issue using Yahoo forum.

I have the same problem. Started 4/25/18. Unable to unlock verizon yahoo email account and it loops to Verizon Fios page so I can log into My verizon. Verizon says yahoo problem. Yahoo gives me verizon to contact. No help. Still can not get into my account. Considering canceling verizon as this is a joke. Yahoo phone number is constantly busy. I sent them 2 emails and they resonded twice with the same email that I should contact verizon. Any ideas?

I have been trying to access email for over a week now with no success. I have even had family members trying to figure out how to gain access but all have been unsuccessful.

I'm having this same issue. I've tried to change the password multiple times, and it cycles me in an endless loop. This has been my primary email address for about 20 years, so I really need to access it. Please help.

I am having the same verizon.net email problem, where I cannot log into my email on either the verizon.yahoo site or via Outlook. On the web portal it says password is incorrect... click "I forgot my password" and it takes me to the verizon home page... it is an endless circle. By the way, why does Verizon only send private messages to folks? Seems like many are having the same issues. Why not post some guidance for everyone to see? I'm still unable to access emails on the web portal or Outlook. Verizon - please help!

Same problem for me. Vicious cycle with Verizon yahoo login. I can't get into my Verizon.net email. I see a lot of private messages from escalated complaints. Can someone help me get back in??? It's been over a week with no success. I need access to email!!!!!!!

I'm having the same issue- I'm locked out of the verizon.net yahoo account and it keeps sending me over to my "my verizon" account with no luck. Can you please help me? I've had this email address for several years and its our main email used to communicate with my daughter's college. Please help me.

This seems to be a common issue. My husband's account is locked, when we try to recover it, it redirects to verizon. We have no idea where it got linked, verizon is no help and tell us to contact Yahoo and yahoo is no help state contact verizon. My husband uses this account all the time and is really stressed and frustrated. Such big companies with a common problem and no resolution and difficult to little costumer service. Any resolution or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I am having this problem as well. I am trying to change the password on my verizon.net account, and the veizon login portal isnot helpful at all. I have had verizon and a verizon email for many years, and this is my main email address.

i have called verizon as well as yahoo, and nobody has been helpful.

I'm having the same issue as everyone else. My email won't take my password and when I try to reset it, it directs me to the verizon page. It's an endless loop. I need to have access to my email.

Well this got me nowhere. Yahoo had been no help either. I just get form emails back from them. It’s ridiculous. I have no access to my email now.

Have you tried this:

Login to Verizon.com, click on where it says HI and your name to go into the Profile for the Verizon.com website. Go down to Security then Change Password and change the Verizon Password from a Password that DOES use a Special Character to one that DOES NOT… Then log out and back in confirm that the password change has worked and then go to the Verizon.yahoo.com website and login.

Tried calling Verizon and was told the average wait time was between 2 hrs and 56 mins and 4 hrs and 7 mins. I can access my verizon email but not my yahoo.

Same issue. I CAN receive my verizon.net emails via Outlook using
incoming.yahoo.verizon.net

BUT, cannot login with a browser. The yahoo login is ok with the verizon.net email, but won't take my password. I have tried several verizon.net emails & get the same result. I know my password(s) are correct, but pressing the link "forgot password" gets nowhere. Verizon support online was no help.

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:

Outlook stopped sending and receiving last week. Can't get any messages. Can't long on to yahoo.com saying my password is not valid. When trying to reset it provides someone else email address to recover password from, but have no idea whos email address that is. HELP!
