Several weeks ago, I signed up for Verizon's Call Assistant - a free service where one benefit is that your voice mails are transcribed and e-mailed to you so you will be able to get messages right away even if you're away from home. This morning, I tried to activate it by entering my home phone number into the activation screen. After hitting enter, I got a message that said I was not subscribed to the Call Assistant Service.
I thought I had done something wrong way back when I signed up for the service, so I went to sign up again. So I'm at the "upgrade / add service" screen and I tried to add the Call assistant. Wouldn't you know it, I get a message saying I'm already subscribed to that service.
Naturally, I figured I might have entered in the wrong phone number by accident on the "Activation" screen, so I went back to that screen, carefully typed in my home phone number correctly. I hit enter!
Take a guess. I'm once again told that I did not subscribe to that service yet. WTH is going on? On one screen Verizon tells me I didn't sign up, on the next screen the same Verizon tells me I already signed up, and then I go back to the first screen and the very same Verizon once again tells me I hadn't signed up.
Is the Call Assistant even worth this hassle that I'm going through???

I did a search for you, and apparently people get the issue resolved by calling the verizon group that handles that - and it's 888 483 5156
give them a try, it's a neat feature, I like it.
