Verizon Yahoo Mailbox - how do I get rid of it . I want to have the plain verizon mailbox.

Switch to AOL. This seems counterintuitive if you want the plain Verizon mailbox, but AOL and Yahoo portal partners don't function the same way.

Important Note:

You will lose any mail/contacts/etc that you currently have on the account when you switch away from Yahoo. Back it up before switching if there's anything you need to keep.
