Verizon account tries to update software

When I start the Verizon IP, I receive a software  update message. I click to allow the download to begin. A green bar goes back and forward for 2 mintues and then I get a response, " time expired for action".  Did Verizon update the DSL software recently ? Has anyone else had the same experience?

Please check your firewall software to see if it is blocking the software update process. If you are still having these issues please send me a private message.
