What are you currently using for SMTP and IMAP / POP3 servers?
Definitely windows live mail works as does Windows 10 mail. So settings used in your email become important. Also YAHOO or AOL matters(at this point I think vanilla Verizon doesn't exist).
E.g Yahoo users have had to change their password to meet Yahoo and Verizon rules (mostly limited special characters).
