deleting ALL emails

I want to delete all email--I have over 1000 in there and all are junk. It comes in so rapidly that I can't keep up. I have essentially given up. I want to keep my email address, but I need to delete everything so I can then set up filters to keep the spam and trash out. PLEASE help. I want to delete all, not just 20 at a time. I'd be old and grey if I have to do that.

Open email to find on screen "An error has occurred in the script on this page"

Below in a box Do you wih to continue, Yes/No. No matter how many times I hit

that Yes/no It does not open, then I can not close this email or delete it.
